Introduction

If you are a visitor to the Beretta Net web site and are not on the mailing list or message board you likely don not know me. Let me introduce myself! My name is Rex Weatherford. I have been driving Berettas since 1993 and was one of the first 40 people on the mailing list. Since then most of those original people have left except a few of the dedicated. Several of those people that I met in the beginning are now working on this site. The first Beretta I owned was an 89 GT 2.8 automatic. I bought it when I was a junior in high school and drove it through college. Since starting to autocross in the SCCA's Solo II program I sold the car to my father and he and my sister drove it to 175,000 miles. It has now been sold to someone else and is still going. I upgraded my personal car by purchasing a 92 Beretta GTZ Quad4. This car has proven to be a performer through drag racing, dyno runs, and autocrossing.

I am located in the north central MO area. I only hope that I can rub off on others and that they will recognize the community of owners that are developing around these cars. Most Berettas are abused and only getting older. The newest Beretta is 6 years old. I hope that we can pull together to solidify the future of our automobiles. GM has already stopped making quite a few parts for the older model cars and us Beretta owners have to show the aftermarket parts suppliers that we don't want these parts to continue to go unmade. In the mean time the junkyard hunters are the gold finders of the Beretta community. Finding mint condition door panels for an 88-90 Beretta is a GREAT find! Most all of them have broken and are beyond repair. Little things like this make these cars a challenge, but a challenge I feel is WELL worth the fight!
