Official Attendance Sheet

Where is it?
Memphis, Tennessee

When is it?
June 20th - 23rd

What will we do there?
THURSDAY
1:00-4:00PM Meet at Overton Park. Here is where you will check-in to the event. Meet the people you'll be spending the weekend with and check out the cars. Check into your hotel room afterwards. Get a map and directions on how to get there here.
5:00-10:00PM Drag racing. We will be going to Memphis Motorsports Park for this. Gates open at 5:00PM and racing is from 6:00-10:00PM. Cost is $15 to race and $5 to watch.
FRIDAY
9:00-????AM CompCams Tour. We've arranged for us to tour CompCams' facilities. This will be really neat! I don't know how long it will last, but it shouldn't be more than a couple of hours. They don't do tours often, so they are really excited about accommodating us.
????-6:00PM Group Split. Here's your chance to explore the town. Go by yourself or with a group of friends. Possible places of interest would be Graceland, Mud Island, Race-On, Children's Museum, Memphis Zoo, etc.
6:00-????PM Beale Street. We'll meet back at the hotel at 6:00PM. From here we'll grab some food at your favorite place and explore Beale Street for the rest of the night. I've heard that there are TONS of things to do and see.
SATURDAY
Morning Rest. No doubt you were up late last night and might need to sleep in a bit. Grab a leisurely breakfast and polish up your car. There has been some interest in Sky Diving which you can join in on or go to watch.
1:00-5:00PM Cookout. From the hotel we'll head to our reserved picnic shelter at Meeman-Shelby state park for some good food and good conversation. Group pictures will also be taken at this time.
6:00-????PM Go Kart Racing. To be done at Putt-Putt Memphis - home of the longest, largest, and fastest go-kart track in the mid-south. A favorite Bfest pasttime, go-karting is usually very brutal ;-) They also have other things of interest like putt-putt, kiddie rides, a large game room, laser tag, etc.
SUNDAY
Morning Goodbyes. It's always sad to see the weekend come to an end. We're trying to organize a group breakfast for everyone, and will have a small group meeting to close the event.

What will the decal look like?
It will look very similar to last year's. Picture coming soon.

Where will we stay?
We have reserved a block of rooms at a nice national-chain hotel.
It has a pool, exercise room, and free continental breakfast.
The rooms are a mere $62/night, and you must register to attend
BerettaFest to get the contact information for our hotel.

How much money can I plan on spending?
I get asked this every year, and every year it's a tough question to answer. I've seen people get by with no more than a couple hundred dollars for the entire weekend, and others need much more. A lot of it has to do with how far you are coming from and what your personal spending habits are. With that in mind, I can offer some suggestions and reminders for your planning:
  • Remember that we get free continental breakfast from our hotel
  • Your lunch on Saturday will be covered by the cookout
  • The itinerary is complete, so check out prices on the activities
  • Use your gas mileage calculations to buy gas cards before the event
  • Over-plan for gas useage. Gas tends to get used faster when we are in large groups.
  • Consider sharing a room if you're on a tight budget. A great way to make new friends!
  • Do you want any souvenirs?
  • Don't forget money for a T-shirt
Not counting your hotel room and gas money, most people tend to bring $150-$300 to cover the rest of the weekend like food, souvenirs, etc. I'll add more suggestions as I think of them. Email me if you have any questions.

What is it like at a Bfest?
Attending a BerettaFest is a very unique experience. If you are expecting BerettaFest to be like a Super Chevy type show only smaller and with all Berettas then you're in for a surprise. We actually DO spend a lot of time talking about cars and checking out each other's Berettas, but that's only half of the fun. BerettaFest also focuses on the people of the fest more than any other car gathering that I have witnessed. A lot of time will be spent just getting to know your fellow Beretta enthusiasts on a personal level. This is why (if you look on the above itinerary) there are scheduled 'cultural' events and things not having to do much with Berettas. BerettaFest is about having fun in a new place with old and new friends that all share a common interest - our Berettas.

What should I bring with me?
Well, of course you'll want to take items that you would take on any trip. Things like clothes, personal items, and any medical items that you may need. Aside from this, here is a list of items you should consider taking:
  • Credit Card - borrow one if you don't have one
  • FRS radio - our main form of communication
  • Gas cards and Phone cards - easy way to pre-plan expenses
  • Sunscreen and insect repellant - we are outside a lot
  • Car cleaning supplies - birds target shiny cars with their poo
  • Car equipment - extra fluids, tools, full spare, etc.
I'll add more things as I think of them. Suggestions? Shoot me an email.

I want to go. How do I register to attend?

LATE REGISTRATION DEADLINE: JUNE 16TH, 2002

Late Registration deadline is set for June 16th, which is the Sunday before Bfest. This will give me a couple of days to get my paperwork in order.

How does Late Registration differ from the regular Registration? Well for starters, the cost will be the same - $15 for a driver and $5 for any passenger. As of May 31st, we no longer have a block of rooms reserved at our hotel. All of the free rooms in our block were released. This means that if you late register YOU WILL BE ON YOUR OWN WITH THE HOTELS. I will still supply you with our group hotel information, but you are in no way guaranteed our group rate or that you will even get a room in the hotel. Another much less minor side-effect of registering late is that your packet that you get at the 'fest may be a tad more sparse then those who registered on time. Preparations are already underway for some things and I can't be changing many of them.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE: I will no longer be accepting snail mailed payments. This includes personal checks or money orders. I will ONLY accept payment via PayPal.com to blair@michiana.org. It's an instant way of paying and is much more convenient for me. Please include with your registration your full name, full name of any passengers, year/color/model of your Beretta, a contact email address, phone number, and the city/state where you will be coming from.

I think that I've covered everything. Post to the list if you have any questions.

My Beretta is a clunker. Can I still attend?
Of course! In fact, it's encouraged. Most everyone's cars are daily
drivers and are not in immaculate condition.
