Chicago MiniFest 1999
I left my house in South Bend, Indiana at about 8:30. I hauled some arse and made it to Dave's house in Villa Park
around 10ish. Of course, the lazy bum was sleeping. I polished my pimp sled a bit then we left for Fudrucker's at about
11. We arrived around 12 and most of the people were already there - talking outside. We chatted for a bit then went in to
eat. A little bit later Smitty showed up - as well as Kevin and Oscar in their GTZ's. We all got stuffed on some expensive
but good food. Cliff actually ordered so much that he needed a doggie bag! I never thought I'd see that day... After eating
we found a nice little road by some businesses for a photo shoot. A few people also tried some runs with a Gtech, but our strip
of road was really too short to get any good numbers. We stayed there a bit and had some nice conversations going about each
others cars. We then went to a mall where the group got split up. We talked some more and got harassed by the little rent a cop
guy with his pretty little yellow light bar. We all went our own ways at the mall. Special thanks to Tom for organizing the little
shindig and to Smitty for making one long-arse drive from the UP of Michigan ;-) Most people went home, but I went to Dave's house...
Me and Austin ended up going back to Dave's house. We watched the BerettaFest video from Indianapolis while we waited for
Bryan and Pat to show up. We first went out bowling at this pretty cool lane. There was this incredibly hot girl playing pool
behind our lane...needless to say, my bowling score suffered ;-) I think Bryan ended up winning. Then we went to see Superstar at
a theatre. What a stupid movie...I loved it! After that it was pretty late so we went back to Dave's place to crash and Austin left for home.
The next morning we just watched TV and goofed around. We put some slick new exhaust tips on Bryan's GT. All in all, I had a great time. I'd
like to tell you more about the events when we were all at Dave's house...but then I'd have to kill you.
