I changed to the Eibachs Pro-Kit for performance reasons not because I wanted a lower car for appearance reasons (although I do like the reduced "gap" between tire and fender). According to Eibachs' technical people, their springs for the Beretta are designed to work in the original suspension setup. That's why I went with Eibachs. I have ridden in many sports cars with performance suspension and understood and expected a harsher ride. However, it appears that my problem is that the Monroe's are not stiff enough (although I was advised that they would be) OR that they are setup incorrectly. Notwithstanding, I prefer the ride I have now to the one I had before! Rex wrote: The problem with lowering your car with springs only, is that you have reduced the available travel distance in your suspension. This decreases the effectiveness of your suspension geometry for a smooth ride. The only good thing about lowering your car (from a performance standpoint) is that it lowers the center of gravity (which effects several things) and possibly increasing spring rate (stiffness) of which too much can be bad also. None of the common springs built for our cars go to the 'too stiff' end of the range. The correct way to lower ride hight for a vehicle is to raise the suspension attachment points on the body or raising the attachment points for the wheels (dropped spindles). Unfortunately this is very difficult and none of us are going to go to the trouble. Increasing shock stiffness and matching the shocks to the shorter travel distance of the new suspension geometry will help. Some other easy things to try are lowering tire pressure. This may get rid of some of the bounce. Don't go too low though. Increasing sidewall height will also help but can hurt performance and will hurt steering responsiveness. Of course if you lowered your car for performance reasons then you should deal with the rough ride (you asked for it) and get stiffer shocks to reduce bounce. The car will 'bounce' less but will be harsher when you hit bumps. A Beretta doesn't have much suspension travel anyway and you have reduced it. I'll do lots of things in the name of performance. (now if I just had the $$$) If you lowered your car for looks only then I'm sorry that you thought that it wouldn't effect ride quality. ;^) Hope this helps the understanding of what is going on.
