The Chevrolet Beretta has enjoyed some high-profile experience in various forms of professional racing. Granted, things like IMSA and NHRA cars share little in common with their production counterparts, but they are still a part of the pedigree (the IMSA cars did inspire Chevy to build the production Beretta GTU...). And with what is perhaps the Beretta's biggest claim to pro fame, the 1990 Indy 500 Pace Car, there is a big link to production Beretta's. The pace car was essentially a production car hot-rodded by Chevrolet and C&C of Michigan. This car was a glimpse at the potential of the production car, but unfortunately things like the hi-po V6 and convertible top never materialized.
