3100 Rocker Guideplates

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a set of good 3100 Guideplates, needed for installing roller rockers in a 3400. Shipping will be a little crazy because I'm all the way in Labrador, Canada, but it shouldn't be too bad for something relatively small. In case anyone remembers me, I've been gone a long ti...

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

OBX does decent work for the import/FWD crowd, but they still have to step up their game for the domestic trucks, from the looks of it.

Re: New Member

I wish they made rear window louvres still, I want one for my Corsica. It looks period correct and badass on your car, I really like it. Plus, kudos for sticking with the 2.2L. I've put a lot of work into mine and lots in the future, but I suggest a 95-97 Cavalier header (I bought one for a 98+ and ...

Re: HELP: Anyone ever swap out the speakers for BOSE?

You can't go wrong with higher end Alpine 6.5's, JL-Audio's, Rockford Fosgate or Polk seem to be solid choices (use adaptors for them, because oval speakers are a compromise for extra cone area, but aren't as focused as 6.5's can be) I hear good things about Image Dynamics speakers as well, but can ...

Re: HELP: Anyone ever swap out the speakers for BOSE?

Alpine still have a decent reputation on audio forums, for the money they cost. There are better choices out there, but trying to get an answer out of the Car Audio guys like that only leads to trolling and bullshit. Some of them are masters at what they do and have a lot of knowledge, but most are ...

Re: my next project, i need ideas

Once I get the money for a nice 90mm cable TB, I've got a Trailblazer SS/GMT900 truck intake manifold to go on it, which is one of the best flowing intakes GM ever made for the engines (the car intakes look cool, but don't flow nearly as well as even a 99 silverado's will, due to plenum volume). I a...

Re: Auto Projects

maintenance. I like hot rodding stuff, but maintenance is really no fun. 100% am in agreement with this one. Me also, I have no problem spending 40+ hours porting and polishing heads and manifolds, but when it comes time to change ball joints or struts, I dread every second of it...which is why I n...

Re: my next project, i need ideas

I personally, Love the B-Body Chevy's, but they're an acquired taste and bland compared to most cars you're probably looking at. Because of that though, they don't automatically demand an insane price for a decent body. I'd look for a truck 5.3 or 6.0L LS-engine, as you can find them for dirt cheap ...

Re: HELP: Anyone ever swap out the speakers for BOSE?

I picked up a set of Alpine Type-R 6.5" coaxials for dirt cheap and I'm very happy with them (got one in each door on my crew cab 2500HD). They aren't that great if you like a lot of bass, but they have great sound quality and clarity, which is what I prefer anyway. if I need Bass, I'll just pi...

Re: Auto Projects

I hate doing brake lines, timing belts and dropping oil pans on tight FWD cars and modern IFS 4WD trucks. I'd rather headbutt a pile of broken glass than do that crap.

I farm that crap out, if I have the money to pay for it LOL.

Re: Loose tilt steering. Failed inspecition

http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki/images/d/d6/Jazzman_Steering_Rack_Rebuild.pdf Here's a guide on how to do it, but it's for an 80's car, but it was the exact same for my full size truck, so it should work for all. I purchased the two tools needed (steering wheel remover and guide pin remover...

Re: Loose tilt steering. Failed inspecition

I rebuilt the tilt steering in my 83 Jimmy, I put a new bushing and bearing in mine, because the plastic guide bushing (that's what I'm calling it, don't know the official name, assuming it's the same for our columns) was worn down, allowing room for wiggling, even with my bolts lock-tited like they...

Razzi Body Kit????

Once I get the money, a guy one town over from me (still over 400miles away, because I live in the middle of nowhere) is williing to hold onto 2 Beretta's he has. One's a 96 2.2/5-speed and the other is a early 93 3.1/5-speed. He's going to include a Razzi kit with them, which doesn't seem to look v...

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

The 04' Impala SS I drive (very nice taxicab) could really use one of these. I can barely apply the throttle on corners because it'll just spin and fly straight ahead. It's got awesome power, but really needs all the control it can get. I can't imagine the 5.3L versions....

Re: Chevy Beretta FF

The intake manifold is two piece, the top part, which has the TB built in, and the rest lol. It's got decently sized runners for what it is, but the top section really holds the whole thing back. I've heard of people making manifold spacers for themselves and getting decent gains, due to additional ...
