Re: Just a thought

$325,000? All my cars would be out the door. I could build better versions of all of them for that.

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

The basement is finished, so the subfloor was ruined around it. I've pulled up 1/4 of the floor and need to keep going. I like the black out look...but it's not good for plywood and 2x's. Nasty moldy mess. The indirect water heater had an internal leak causing the boiler pressure to rise and drip ou...

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

It is. In my town anyway. I've paid $1000/mo for 9 years and about $20k in upgrades and repairs and I still have no equity. I'd never buy here again.

Walton was actually in the Wall Street Journal today about small rural towns collapsing...

Re: If You Parted Out a Car, Was It Worth It?

My dad has bought a lot of old junk Mopars and parted them for a nice profit. I mean, he had some REALLY ugly stuff that he made good money on. However, I think Berettas are a different story. I don't think there's a lot of money to be made, but you could salvage some parts for others who may need t...

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

So...water heater project tonight got deeper than planned. Home ownership sucks. So the pickup truck pick up is postponed until next weekend. But the dude is super cool with it. That was a phone call I dreaded but it was a piece of cake.

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

Yeah, i'll definitely keep my ECM, but the wiring is different for the other computer. I'd have to repin the harness if it didn't already come with the 7427. And yes, the 7427 has the ESC built in with no external module. I'm actually going to keep my truck's ECM as a backup plan and modify the new ...

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

The fact that it's automatic to start is actually good. The 4l60e means it got the better 7427 computer, which is what my tune is based from (mine was auto too.)

Fun fact: there's 6'11" between the trailer fenders. Guy says tire to tire it's "just under 7ft". Haha

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

I did, but it wasn't blasted first. I only cleaned it with soap and a pressure washer. It rusted from the inside out and flaked the liner off. That monster blaster my dad has should make this round last much better with proper prep. Dude sent a bunch more pics today and I'm sold on it. Agreed to $13...

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

Snapped an ebrake cable I had to replace and I get depressed every time I look underneath it... haha https://i.imgur.com/CPPKXoF.jpg For a while I've been looking all over the country for a good deal on an eventual replacement and found one in Ohio that looks like a pretty good match. Black 94 ext c...

Yes. Yellow feeds NSS. NSS purple feeds starter.

Re: My 3400 + 5 speed swap thread

Yellow is the 12v cranking wire to the neutral safety switch. The purple is the same circuit that delivers that 12v to the starter. The nss is just an interrupter.

Re: The Z26 you all wanted to see

Here are some pictures I have from my old car. Mine didn't look nearly as bad until I used a screwdriver to punch through the brittle stuff. I had thought about running .120 wall square tubing as new rockers for strength, but the door jamb was so bad I decided against it. Shine a flashlight up that ...

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup

Been a little stir crazy with nothing much I can do in the garage. So I Raptor Lined the deck cause it's super slippery when wet. I've used the spray Raptor on my truck and Camaro before, but this is a new roll-on kit that even came with some traction sand. Even easier than the spray kit! https://i....

Re: The Z26 you all wanted to see

It's a huge flaw with these car the way they rust. How do the door jambs look? You could add the needed structure back in more easily if you're not worried about the underside looking factory. I did some brainstorming back then about reinforced rockers and "subframe" connectors. Structural...
