well for that one its cause the mileage...
but mostly hold their value for their huge aftermarket...
this in turn makes them very popular for gearheads...
and helps keep them on the drag strips....

very possible if the wire strands are hanging loose, could be shorting the sub out......but the old wiring back it, just be sure its something with the new wires....and not just dumb luck with the subs....

id use one of those for a car application, as noise isnt a factor...air flow is.....
my CPU fans are thermaltakes....i used to have panaflos (great CFM, and no noise))

if your near a college area, best thing to do is keep your eyes open on the curbs...ive gotten so many things curb watching when I lived in philly...computer parts, couches...etc.... if your looking for something sooner, just go to radioshack...i know they sell thermaltake gear...im sure they even h...
