Re: what did you do to your ride today?

I bought some Douglas tires from Walmart. They get good reviews and are supposed to be made by Goodyear. My old tires were Goodyear and about 11 years old. I read they had recalls for cracking awhile back. I'll put these tires on in the spring on my 88 since I put the 88's Z-26 wheels on my 96 and I...

Re: what did you do to your ride today?

I'm thinking I need some new tires due to dry rot.

Re: Back to Berettas after 15+ years

Corrosion on the ECM pins was what I was thinking but yours looks good. I hope you find the problem.
Thats a nice looking car and solid on the underside. I like the color. I had a 92 that looked just like it.

Re: what did you do to your ride today?

The rockers on the 96 are rusted out on the bottom, shock towers are OK but the frame rail on the gas tank side is bad.
I doubt it's worth putting too much into it to save it. If something really nice came up, I might be tempted.
I have the 88GT with 30k on it so I will still own a Beretta.

Re: what did you do to your ride today?

I'm replacing the front parking brake cable. Raybestos BC94603 I got it from Rock auto. The damn thing is too long. I don't have enough adjustment to tighten it up. I guess I have to pull it back out and see if I can mod an end to make it shorter. I bought way back in July so I can't return it but ...

Stink bugs!

Our country has imported Chinese stink bugs and it's that time of year when they look for winter shelter. They stink a bit but not like skunk. It's smell is kind of like rancid oil with pine. I was working on my 88 when I kept smelling the bug's smell. I look down into the alternator and this little...

Oh man, sorry you wrecked your truck.
The truck looked solid, not much rust that I can see.
But you weren't hurt so that is the most important thing.
Also, no ticket from the cops for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident?

Re: From backyard to Berettafest

The car looks very nice. Do you really need straight pipes and no cat to go a little bit faster? IMHO, too many people take off pollution controls and run straight pipes, fart can mufflers etc. They drive around polluting and make all kinds of noise for miles around like they are living in a vacuum....

Re: LG5 Corsica hatch, coolant switch conundrum??

I do not know the answer for your car as to what if anything is wrong. But my with 94 mini van, as I recall, I don't think the fan would work because the AC did not have a charge. Also when I did get it to work after fixing the AC, I was not comfortable with the high temperature before it came on, i...

Re: what did you do to your ride today?

My 96 z26 needs the main parking brake cable changed out. The 88 needs a new PS cooling line installed. I have the parts but I've been fighting a muti-year battle with gremlins in my mini van which came to a head last week. Symptoms include SES lights, rough running sometimes, dying after starting, ...

Re: "Routine maintenance" turns in to no-start!

That was good thinking to go over what you had done to find the problem. My daughters Saturn blew a fuse related to the oxygen sensor. It caused problems and warning lights but still ran. I disconnected the oxygen sensor and the new fuse did not blow. I figured the senor heater had shorted out so we...

Re: AC R12 or R134?

There should be a factory sticker which states what type of refrigerant you have in the car. But yes look for the type of fitting you have if the sticker is missing. You can retrofit an r12 system with r134 but when I did mine, I was instructed to add pag oil as well, because r134 will not mix with ...
