i think it might be the valves too, being the bad mech i am i messed up the rockers, i over tightened them, anyone know the proper way to tighten these so they dont open too far or not far enough.

i just swaped a motor in my 89 beretta, with a 90 cavalier, i flushed the coolant, drained oil, you can see if you old motor has an extension on the oil filter and swap them if that works, mine did, also if the new motor has sat for a long time i would run it with fresh fluids and then drain and put...

this motor has been redone, the tranny is going on it, i have a 4cly out of a cavalier 2.2, replaced my 2.0 beretta motor, it hauled for a race or two now all im having in is probs, so i was thinking bout the quad due to the horsepower it cranks...will it stand to 6,000 plus rms consistantly?

Wondering if anyone has a 90 or similar year gtz quad 4, I am thinking about buying one to replace my 2.0 beretta for a 4cly fwd class at a local track, I have head bad things about the motors blowing up alot, anyone have any past experiance or advice.

does anyone know if you have to tighten the rocker arms at tdc and then turn the motor once and tighten the other two....any help would be great.

so after more tinkering we have found that the #3 cylinder is only running at about 60psi, where the rest are betweent 90-110, ran it at the track again last weekend and the hotter the car got the more it backfired, or atlease thats what it sounded like to everyone. anyone got any ideas...ive taken ...

so i replaced the fuel filter and thats not the issue, its the weirdest thing, just gasing it up and holding it at a constant rpm it keeps dropping and going back up. very fustrating.

the motor was just dropped in a month ago and at that time i check the coil packs and module, also put in new spark plugs and wires, I think I will try the fuel filter and let you all know, I have read a couple other questions on here and most have changed them with very little luck. have not checked fuel pressure with guage but I know the pump is working good, and the filter is clear, with air filter off there is a constant flow of fuel, I can hold the pedal at a constant rpm and it will drop and work its way back up, the motor never dies its like it just losses power, Ill have...

Hey just wondering if anyone has had this prob and knows what causes it. I race my 89 beretta in a 4cly class and when racing the motor will cut out and drop 500-1000 rpms and then keep doing it, I thought it was low on gas but after filling it up it kept doing that. all vacuums lines are good, i put the 2.0 thortle body on the intake so that might have something to do with it.

I just got done swaping a 2.2 1990 cav. motor into my 89 beretta after my 2.0 blew up, finally got the motor to run but it idles at 4500 rpm, do I need to re-program the computer, I put the computer from the 90 cav on my car and tried my own and they both do it, any ideas out there, thanks.

I do have fuel pressure, its shooting gas down the intake, we took out the plugs and touched them to the top of the block and no sparks, not sure what is the prob.

Hey i just replaced my 2.0 motor in my 89 beretta with a 2.2 from a chevy cav from 1990, same motor really, but now I dont have any spark to the plugs, plugs are new, sparks are new, check coil pack and it tested fine, any one out there got any Ideas...did I not hook the wires up right any help woul...
