Re: Why Beretta?

Thank you Judith for starting another enthusiast-thread -I love these! Back in the '80s and '90s I remember noticing the Berettas, and thought that they were nicely styled, and a little different than anything else on the road. At the time, my old '70 Road Runner had recently been stolen, and I was ...

Re: What size bulbs and sockets for digital dash?

Someone here likely knows for sure... Markings on the bottom of the smaller-type bulb 'socket' says "12V 3W ALBA", so obviously 12-volt 3-watt to start with. Socket hole is ~3/8" diameter, plus the little tab-holes on either side. Interestingly, the original bulbs are soldered to the ...

Re: I am my own worst enemy...

Well, I am making sure that if I break something, it will be through pure overkill. Just picked-up a new engine for one of the older Plymouths -at least the lineage is within the same family: a Dodge 8.0L V-10. :D Cost was $235 and nearly my life -none of the yard's equipment was properly functional...

They also do the Super Summit event ever year in Norwalk Ohio, free autocross and rag racing , Man, I do not even want to know... :D Thanks for the photos, Woody . Those of us with priorities so bass-ackwards that we cannot even get out to a BFest (yet!) need something to live vicariously through! ...

Re: 1993 Quad4 GTZ: Project WTF

I would suspect rear of it's in the pedal and not steering wheel What he said. Car is looking amazing! I wanted to go stainless too, almost went with the common (OE type) grade (lasts long enough, but discolors notably), but I currently only weld with mild wire, so why pay extra for the good materi...

Re: What size bulbs and sockets for digital dash?

Of the several I have, I found two different sizes, probably depending on the year ('90 was the last year they were available in Berettas, so not a long use anyway). The far more common one uses the standard 194-type bulb (this is a "T-10" base) with the standard GM "PCB", or Pan...

This may help... I have a pinout list too, if anyone needs it.

Downloaded these from this site years ago -the thread is around here somewhere...

IIRC, this was swapped into a Beretta, probably because it was a clean dash, and clean is clean, Corsica or otherwise.

Some of mine... I have three Berettas that originally used the digi-dash, and two other cars I've considered swapping them into, so spares are a MUST.

Re: Finally...

Do you think the heat from that down pipe is close enough to the brake and fuel lines under the car to cause them to get hot and the fluids might bubble? I hope it works, I second a thicker heat insulator between the abs unit and the pipe, I seen a beretta that was turbocharged that had a fire beca...

Re: Would a digital cluster work in a non digital car?

Underdash harness and ECU from the digi-dash donor are absolutely required to run it. Duplicate sensors would be needed if that ECU isn't being used to run the engine. Not sure if any permanent mods are required though, I've seen pictures on here of one grafted into a Corsica dash -it looked good. A...

Re: Finally...

Here are some pics from today. I swear it looked like the DP cleared the ABS components of the Master Cylinder better than this... But it will be okay I'm sure. I will use a thermal insulator on the bottom of the module just to be certain. The heat-shield and electrical harness conduit I fabbed is v...

Re: 2.2 Manual Engine Swap

Chevy's OHV 4-cylinder engines are NOT RPM engines. This has been a problem for them from the beginning, and one of the reasons why the Fiero with the 2.5L cousin was so disappointing to the buying public. The heads aren't designed to flow well at high RPMs, and the bottom-end isn't designed to hand...

Re: Finally...

Car is officially a five-speed Z-26! Yay! My Master Cylinder looks like it is leaking. Boo! I wasn't too interested in risking going back in after this thing later, so while I had it out to install the AN adapter fitting, I just replaced it with another spare I had, which is newer and seems fine. I...

Re: The Derretta, 1994 base with some attitude.

I have a very similar gauge "bezel" trim in my old Z (mine is unpolished stainless, yours looks polished or chrome in that pic) and silver EL gauge face overlay behind it. I love the look of your red-faced gauges, were they custom-made? I also custom-built a whole cluster for my 'old' Cama...

It is very exciting to see so many photos, and to know it went to a true enthusiast. :good: Also very glad to see it is running and still driveable. :Rose...
