Re: Back to Berettas after 15+ years

Yay! Good um, 'tips' regarding quality 'TPS' :) . Glad it worked out well, and now you know the other components you checked along the way are healthy too. :good:

Re: I am my own worst enemy...

That is about what I was thinking -I like the idea of easy touch-ups too. The odds of it remaining forever unscratched are slim... I have almost a full can of VHT epoxy ready to start it out, but they make it in white too... :pardon: That would require a lot more effort though, like taping-off strut...

Re: I am my own worst enemy...

Pulled the GTA's engine out for a new crank-kit last week, and found some other issues inside the engine, so I've been debating on what to do with it. It is the numbers-matching original, so I guess I will fix it and keep going forward on it. I pressure-washed the bay while it was (mostly) empty, an...

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd

Trailer porn, on a Beretta site! :D I like it, very nice. Hmm, I'm thinking that the ramps would fit nicely into the triangular front section on their sides -one per side? Some light 1x1 angle welded under the bottom could support them, and bungees strapped across the top would be cheap/easy to secu...

Re: Back to Berettas after 15+ years

I had my scan tool hooked up KOEO thinking I should see the MAP change when I increased vacuum, but it didn't. I used to work at a local repair shop, and unfortunately I know we failed-out a likely good PCM on a 5.7 Vortec box-truck because of the MAP sensor not registering any change on the PID ou...

Re: 88 Beretta with some problems

This guy hasn't been on here for four years, doubtful he bought that Beretta, or we likely would have seen some sign of him.

Welcome to the site though, more traffic here would be good!

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd

Nice deal on the wheels, they even look good on the car! Congrats on the trailer too, we keep talking about getting one ourselves, but we haven't gotten into the local derby race-scene (yet?) so it hasn't been the top priority. Looking forward to seeing the Camaro properly dressed too! Nice to see s...

Re: Back to Berettas after 15+ years

...And if I had seen this before replying in the other thread... :pardon: Okay, so the MAP looks good, presumably the vacuum line to it is good too. I bought a 3.1/auto Camaro from a co-worker a few years back (and yes, sold it, thank you) that had a transient voltage surge in the low-voltage (5V) r...

Re: what did you do to your ride today?

Ohmed the injectors again with a cold engine, 11.8-11.9 ohms. Took some of the tape (looks like black duct tape) off of the injector harness and checked, looks good. Re-wrapped and started putting the plenum back on. I thought I would have time to fire it up, but I dropped one of the TB bolts betwe...

Re: what did you do to your ride today?

That is a lot of work to have to do to make a new part work... Glad you got it squared away though. I'm sorry to hear about your rust problem. I hope you are able to cure it and save the car. Do you intend to replace it if you do decide to let it go?

'89 GTU License Plate -Cool!

I ran across this on ebay... Even the year is right! My GTU is about 5 weeks away from 'Collector" status, and if registered as such, it no longer requires a front plate, so I was prowling around looking for ideas. I'm concerned about the legalities of this, because it is a legitimate plate, bu...

You might be a terminal motor-head if...

You might be a terminal motor-head if... You keep the bra from your first car in your dresser drawer... You keep a tube of Engine Assembly Lube on your nightstand... Your pin-up poster 'girls' had names like 'Corvette', 'Countach', and 'Camaro', and they ALL had four-wheels... You only buy protectiv...

Re: Finally...

It is time to update, and finish here. I Posted a new thread in "Members' Rides", since this is no longer a project-car (mostly), and is now a driveable Ride . The smoke has seemed to clear up, at least I haven't noticed it lately, even under boost. I finally got the manifold pressure gaug...

Z-26 3.4 DOHC Turbo

Note: Okay, this will be the 'final' resting place for the info on this car, as it goes along. Most of the 'build' as it happened is in the 'General' section under 'Finally', but as this is now a 'ride' and not a 'build' or 'discussion', I felt it should come here. So, here it is: The car: 1995 Z-2...

Re: Beretta Z28

Wow! Great progress, that is an impressive steering-angle, I am personally always laughing at GM's biggest failing in that department with the phrase 'turns like a Chevy' as I make a multi-point turn... You won't be able to say that about your car! :good: Those aluminum panels look oh so clea...
