Not all cobalts came with a doughnut spare. Some just include a can of fix-a-flat.

Glad to see the car is getting restored. I remember the treck to NC in that beast. It desperately needed the 3400 swap.

Wouldn't be useful to berettas unless it's a 96. I bought one and it's been very handy. Use it with the android app "Torque" and i can see a lot of parameters. Reading a clearing codes is great too.

if you're going to change the thermostat change the water pump to. It's another 20min and they are both cheap.
Also i would NEVER take the resevoir cap off a hot engine. That's asking to be burned. Also you don't need to let the coolant "vent" as it's a sealed system.

If it's anything similar to the beretta it's about a 30min-1hr job and is rather simple.

On the cobalt ss yes they all have electric power steering. Those are not coolant lines that's the fuel pump for the direct injection. It's driven by the intake camshaft. There are 2 books. Book 1 is the mechanical and it's a thick book with thin pages.
Book 2 is mostly electrical stuff and is about half as thick as the mechanical.
