Re: LS1/t56 swap

I didnt get it finished tonight. I have a bit of diegrinding to do.. made my mounts to lower the rear subframe and started hogging out the holes big enough for a socket to fit since I dont feel like buying 10" bolts for a temp setup.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v460/Alxsmt/build%20thread...

Re: LS1/t56 swap

Here is a good explanation of it. http://thecartech.com/subjects/auto_eng2/Roll_Center.htm I ended deciding to lower the rear subframe 2.5", which might be perfect, or it could need to be lowered with spacers to get it dialed in by feel once the car is going. I figure its easier to add spacers ...

Re: LS1/t56 swap

I spent that last 10hrs going over my front and rear roll centers. The rear subframe is getting lowered 3" and the front subframe is getting lowered 1/4" lol. Used a laser this time.. Front Roll center will be 4 1/4" and the rear will be 5 7/8". I MIGHT only lower the rear 2.5&qu...

Re: LS1/t56 swap

One of my frienda also had bad results with the napa brand. A friend who has been a bodyman for 30+ years suggested upol. Ive used some of there products with good luck in the past so we will see. You can also buy a 3m wax product that protects bare metal for areas you cant reach, might have to try ...

Re: LS1/t56 swap

I never thought about doing it on a z spoiler, that might look kinda cool http://st.hotrod.com/uploads/sites/21/2015/04/2015-Chevrolet-Camaro-Z28-with-Wicker-Bill-wing.jpg This is what I wanna go for. strengthen the back up a little and it should be good. But CFD will determine if I do it or leave i...

Re: LS1/t56 swap

Thanks, Ive always been a fan of this one. I have a feeling this one wont violently flap in the wind at 140mph.. not that I would have experience with that lol. Well I need a press for the front control arm bushings (at some point), front balljoints (at some point), rear hub assembly and rear shock ...

Re: LS1/t56 swap

No huge updates. Got bored and put my GTU spoiler on. Had to cut my old one off, it wasnt some oddball factory one like I had thought, some company in the UK made it. I will be installing the GTU spoiler on a different trunk lid I think, this one just has too many holes and I have a few laying aroun...

Re: LS1/t56 swap

I was planning to weld it all solid as far as the suspension to the frame goes. How its sitting now I think Ill be able to pull it out of the top. I really really hate pulling engines from the bottom. I did it once when it was fwd. Not an easy task if you dont have a lift, for me anyways lol.

Re: LS1/t56 swap

Its hitting the steering rack. Even once I clock it to move the power steering lines the pan will still hit it. Makes zero sense lol. I must have over looked something somehow... I spent a ton of time making it fit around that rack.. Im using the fbody rear sump pan, its the shallowest up front out ...

Re: LS1/t56 swap

no real good updates yet. Ive been slammed at work so I havnt made much progress. I did put the engine back in, and well.. it wont fit.. my steering rack hits. I swear I had this all mocked up with the rack in. Nothing moved/bent. Worst case I reshape the center of the hood a little. I think im goin...
