Turboing a bonestock 3.1
Ford 2.3l guys always swap Holsets in thier 4 popers. They spool up those monsters at 4K rpm on the little 2.3 and get 20-28psi. Im sure a 3.1 wound have a field day. I cannot find any flow maps for my GM-8 turbo. But I expect it to be flowing about 45lbs min...no less. I see IHI maps for a RHE-8. O...

Turbo Question
Nice going...Killing someones elses ""dream"". Pipe work could range from 100-800. Welding doesn't come cheap unless its a hack job. IF you have a welding class at school..that would be awsome..as you can have them help you make it. Look at flow maps of turbos.... You want someth...

IF its the SSEi superchaged 3.8..with all the the bells and whitles like alternator, power steering pump, SUPERCHARGER and what nots...then I'd consider a engine swap...and spend the rest on engine mounts. But if you want cheap/cheap. Grab the 1.6 ratio rocker arms from a 94-95 chevy beretta 3100. O...

Quad Crane Cam regrinds...
I was thinking about this for my spare SHO engine. YOu could have your cams Heat treated. I know a company that does that. They use a salt bath or something like that or chemical hardening. BTW..is there a service you have to do to the quad lifters like shim change if they have them after 30K miles...

Remote Mount Turbo
Remote mount turbos are good for a DIY'er. Especially if you want your engine bay clean. They work like regular turbo setups..but they are slower in response time. They will work good for drag racing or top speed. BUT im talking heckteck driving like Rally or Auto-X. With drag racing..all you have t...

Rebuilding the 3.1L
A basic 3400 swap will put a beretta in the mid or low 15s auto or low 14s mid 14s 5spd. A hybrid 3.1 will do about the same. A 3100 could do the same..but you'd have to swich over to flat tapp performance cam if you don't want to spend $300+ on a roller performance cam. With other supporting mods m...

Rebuilding the 3.1L
The most a 3.1 can be sized to is a 3.2L with overbored replacement pistons. '00 and up year 3100 and 3400 top end is recomended since they are the big bore intake manafolds. Heads don't need any mods to fit any bore size within the 60d engine family (2.8,3.1, 3100,3400). IF you can't get your hands...
