Re: I need help with this HUGE mod!

I did the 91+ console in my old GTU I had, looked ok but it will overhang in the front on both sides, from what I remember the 91+ cars have ducting or something running to the rear that the pre-91s do not have. It will look odd if you do not swap the carpet as well or figure something out.

Re: 90 GTZ Headgasket?

I'll have to find where I read it if possible. You're probably right though, have not gone any further than looking at the plugs yet due to being busy with other things. Plugs were filthy which further threw me away from head gasket combined with the lack of smoke, but probably smart to go into it e...

Re: 90 GTZ Headgasket?

Huh, what I read was that the newer ones do not leak, and the first edition/first design leaked into the oil when bad. I did pull the plugs and they appeared very dirty/black (usually they clean everything when coolant enters the cylinder) and it is not smoking/steaming. just loosing coolant into th...

90 GTZ Headgasket?

Ok, i was gonna sell the GTZ a while back but I ended up backing out due to coolant starting to appear in oil. Runs as good as ever (I do not run it more than a few seconds, a minute tops to move it) Do I seem right in assuming headgasket? It is to my understanding that the water pump can mimick the...

Re: 88 Chevrolet Beretta GT (BLACK) FOR SALE $2500.00 - Ohio

Those 2.8/3.1s seem to be indestructable lol.

Looks like it was a nice car, I kinda regret getting rid of the GTU for the GTZ, wouldn't have if the GTU would have been a manual. I imagine that 88 was pretty fun being a 3.1/manual?

Re: WTB: Euro headlights

I will consider that, not sure of the GTZs future yet, but if I keep her I will be going that route, sealed beams should look great on a white GTZ.

Re: I swear I'm not a Honda guy...

I imagine its decently peppy for what it is, and the 6 speed helps alot. Pretty cool being a manual, I imagine most are Auto, did you need to search much to find a manual one? Automatic is the only thing that I dislike about my F150, but imo the 300 i6 makes up for it. Probably better that your Acco...

Re: I swear I'm not a Honda guy...

Honestly, Honda's are more American than GM's are now. Hondas are built all over the US, my friend works for one of their engine plants too. Not too surprising why they last so much longer. Yes they are put together here but since when does simply assembling a vehicle in the US make it "Americ...

Re: My project.

yeah i would check that too, they rot on alot of different vehicles in the rust belt areas (salt). repairable, but time consuming i am sure. i could be wrong but iirc the cowl is a good place to check too, the trim pops off easy to check/clean up/repair the leak it seems most develop in that area. a...

Re: My project.

That rust on the door jams is only the beginning. It will be 100% worse underneath where it starts. Not 100% true. There are exceptions. my GTZ has a small hole in each side like the last pics (not as bad though) and the rockers and everywhere else is great on it including the inside of the rocker ...

Re: WTB: Euro headlights

You can make late 80's Camaro head lights work with some imagination. Actual Euro's at this point are going to be silly expensive, and very hard to find. That works and would be alot cheaper after looking around at older posts on euro lights for sale. I imagine just make the black "housing&quo...

Re: 1990 GTZ - "chattering" chain noise, water pump/idler?

interesting, ill have to compare my stock stuff to the aftermarket stuff and see what (if any) differences there are.

god aftermarket quality seems to be pathetic!
