Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
Right on, looks like you had some fun -love that you had to notice your third-eye light was missing a bulb -OCD as only a Builder would have! Very cool that nothing broke, but next time the car should be driven there! (And yeah, driven back!) How many people there figured out that the w...

Re: Anyone know what these go for ?
Welcome mrchuck . The leather-wrapped wheel was offered on GT and GTU models in addition to the Indy, up through 1990. Yep, 'uncommon' might not describe it as well as 'rare' anymore. A previous owner had replaced my GTU's wheel with a smaller-diameter aftermarket, like a Grant or something... I was...

Re: Searching for shifting cable for a 1995
Automatic or manual transmission? Manual transmission cables are 'unicorns', she would pretty much need to have custom ones made at this point. Auto shift cables are usually available aftermarket. But if you want a factory-original quality part, I have one from a low-mileage '95 Z-26 with the 3100 V...

Re: Need some suspension help
Hmm, missed this post somehow. Nice write-up, great up-to-date info on the limited parts availability and some good work-arounds. :good: I've crawled through just about every inch of my '92 N-Body Grand Am's front end (finally scrapped the shell of that, a bit painful considering the work I had put ...

Re: 1990 GTZ Dead Cyl
Ecotec will fit fine, makes sure you have the transmission for it and the CV axles as well -those will plug right into your Beretta wheel-hubs (I used those in my GTU with the F40-six-speed swap next to the 3800SC). That would be a cool swap. Have you looked into Rock Auto for the Quad parts though?...

Re: Shop upgrades
Working actively on fixing my storage problem now. I am building an 8x24 'shed' to house the engines and transmissions, plus hopefully anything else ... I had to wait longer to start this until the concrete had extra cure-time due to the cold weather, but we got it done. It has been a long-haul to ...

Re: No Start Diagnosis Help
IIRC, the '95 (and I have two of them, though one is no longer a 3100, with the bigger Quad-Cam 3.4 sibling from a '95 Z-34 shoe-horned in instead  ) 3100 will run with the cam sensor disconnected -it needs this for the Sequential function of the "SFI", and will revert to batch-fi...

Re: OBDI.5 to OBDII Engine bay harness fixes
Photos are not loading up. 😢 Fixed, but this is really kind of obsolete since OBDI.5 is tunable. Thank you Jon. I would say that at this point, NO information is obsolete (in a relative sense). Not everyone will have the right tools to tune OBD 1.5, but might be equipped for OBD II. And there are o...

Re: 89 Beretta GT 2.8 V6 belt tensioner removal
It is really not that bad. Harder than some engines of course. When installing the new tensioner, make sure the alignment dowel on the back lines up and plugs into the recess on the timing-case. But consider even the newer Berettas with the 3100 V-6, the newer so-called 'superior' engine-mounts requ...

Re: 89 Beretta GT 2.8 V6 belt tensioner removal
Don't know about removing the wheel to access it, but I would start with a low-profile socket-wrench, and go from above. I've got a selection from the over-labeled Snap-On down to Harbor Freight's Pittsburgh line, they all work fine as they should, but my lowest-of-the-low profile is an O'Reilly's w...

Re: Dead Batteries
I am tormented by this question I am tormented by 'bots and spammers. :pardon: Nevertheless, an update may be in order... I would say this technique has had about a 50/50 success rate, maybe just under that for me. I have a couple of now-good revived batteries, and a couple that are still junk wait...

Re: How much maintenance to give?
But isn't H2O required to sustain life? My father has always preached the "buy once cry once" and "if it's worth doing it's worth doing right" kind of philosophy. And he also never finishes anything. Haha. And here I am with the 10yr "perfect" Camaro project. I'v...

Re: How much maintenance to give?
Fantastic Post, Andy! Thank you so much for the insight, I couldn't agree more. Well, almost anyway... I can at least relate pretty much across the board, hahaha... "If it isn't broken, AND IS OPERATING CORRECTLY OR AT LEAST SUFFICIENTLY, don't fix it", might be a better paradigm fo...

Re: 95 Chevy beretta driver window replacements
Hi Clifford, all Beretta door-glass is the same, 1988-1996. Obviously, Left side is different from Right side, but I mean that any year Beretta will fit any other year. Glass is also the same whether your car has power windows or manual crank units -the regulators themselves are of course different,...
