Re: Broken spark plug

The only thought I have is to soak the threads(with oil) and try an EZ out. That would work better! Good thinking! And DO NOT use antiseize on the new spark plugs. It affects the torque used on them and could damage the threads on the head as well as causing a weaker spark due to reducing ground el...

Re: 99 Grand Prix GTP questions

Definitely check the supercharger to see if the oil has been changed and change it if not. Other than that, basic fluid checks/changes and such, you'll have a great car to have for awhile.

Suspension compadibility

Hey guys, I came across a mid 90's Grand Am with the FE3 suspension and wondered if it could work on our L body's. I know that they are pretty similar platforms but I was curious as to what years will work if they do at all.

Exterior problems

Alright guys, I noticed my upper door molding/seal, as I believe it's called, was sagging a bit and I wanted to replace it. Anyone know if that's possible or there's a universal size that fits? Also, and it's hard to explain so I'll try to get a pic of what I'm looking at but the drip rails as I cal...

Re: 90 GTZ quad4 (no battery)

Do not run it without a battery. If you can borrow one and just move it to where you want it than that's fine but don't attempt to break the connection or drive it without one. The risk of a surge wrecking all your electronics is too great. And I guess I'll be that guy, buy the battery and slap a b...

Re: The stupidest thing I've seen today -an open thread

Okay, this one is more mundane than some of the other ones, but here is today's stupidest thing: For those of us that have been around working on cars long enough to remember when Torx (aka "star bit") screws came out, they were a "specialized tool" fastener, that generally irri...

Re: Ignition problem on 1991 beretta

Thanks for the reply. Actually i was thinking in replacing the ECM, because i get the 2.2V when the plug is diconnected. the only diagnotic code i get is "12 No distributor reference pulse (diagnostic test active)" Ahhhh, now the picture is clearer. That would mean your ICM isn't getting ...

Re: Ignition problem on 1991 beretta

If it's only getting 2.2 volts, than yes it's the ignition module. Replace with an AC Delco unit, not cheap crap and you'll be fine.

What color is the interior? If it's grey I'll take the sunvisors from it.

Re: 3.1 engine ignition(?) problem

Looking at the snap shot of data, it's kind of tough to diagnose. I don't like how low the MAP is reading but that could be due to elevation. Check for any restriction in your intake and if your losing power in the upper range, check out your catalytic converter. I'd also get your fuel pressure chec...
