Re: Back to Berettas after 15+ years
Enviable luck, a break-down in the driveway when you aren't in a rush to get somewhere else... :good: Regarding the A/C, would I be correct in guessing it is time to convert over to 134a? Easy to do, the fitting kit is available and inexpensive, just be sure to use the correct oil with it (134a's &q...

Re: Shop upgrades
I would suggest a four-car garage WITH room to expand or add on a shop later. I've got four and a small workshop which is now stuck serving double-duty as a machining shop AND a woodshop -it gets crowded fast ... Plus, I need another half-bay for engine and transmission storage... Working ac...

Re: LS1/t56 swap
The Delorean DMC-12 initially had the fuel-filler in the 'trunk' (which was of course up front, since the Delorean was a mid-engine car), and the whole lid had to be opened-up to fill the tank. Shortly into production though, they 'updated' the 'trunk lid' with a gas-flap door in the edge. So that c...

Re: Budget LS swap 6spd RWD Z26 project.
Fantastic! Watching your video, at the point you were swapping-out the clutch M/C, and popping up through the gaping hole in the floor-pan, all I could do was laugh and think, " Warning!! Danger to Manifold! (Woody didn't heed that warning!) "  :D Congrats having her running on...

Who, me? Look above, "2nejunkie" dredged this up, as it appears he is having similar problems. His post was Oct 27th, 2022, THIS YEAR, unless I slept-in too long??Styluss wrote:You do know you're responding to a post that's 7 years old, right?

Re: LS1/t56 swap
Nice to see this still moving forward. Doesn't look like you are experiencing much 'shelf wear' on your project... You must have it stored in a pretty decent place, I know for most of my long-term cars they start deteriorating when I ignore them too long.

I love brake rotors -New Tools!
Ever have a CV axle jam, and refuse to come out? Limited access for pry-bars, you just can't yank on the darn thing because it will pull the boot apart or just spring-back and laugh at you... What to do? A cheap slide-hammer and a little creativity enters in... CV Slide 3a.jpg The small lip on the e...

Re: Dead Batteries
I would say that 'old' is indeed the key. Most newer chargers have gone digital control everything, and are 'idiot-proof' or 'baby-safe'... Pisses me off to no end when making a tool 'safe for all users of any experience' (or I.Q. level) essentially removes a part of its' function. That said, even m...

Dead Batteries
When you have a collection of cars, like I do, maintaining batteries can not only waste a lot of time, but also a lot of money. I've explored alternative options to conventional lead-acid starting batteries before, and know maybe a little more about batteries and their construction than the average ...

Re: 2 potential LS swaps
Sorry, I was looking for Paul Harvey. He did a radio show I used to listen to reruns of riding around in my dads F150 in the 80s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rest_of_the_Story Hopefully if you keep a small enough tire in the back, you can break traction instead of breaking trannies. Thats my ...

And now for the rest of the story. <<<1000 points for anyone who knows what thats from. For the longest time I wanted to get a 300ZX. Then I changed my mind Walter Kronkite? :unknown:  -Oops, just double-checked the spelling, sorry Mr Cronkite... I'm sure I could wiki-cheat it... But I...

Re: what did you do to your ride today?
Old Mopars are ok I guess, and these two are both 4spd, but there's no way in hell I'd pay the Mopar tax. Cost twice as much as a comparable Chevy. ^^^THAT is a fact! I never could figure that out either. Unfortunately, the heart wants what the heart wants. :pardon: If you fall in love with a Texas...

You can get more light really easily with just a bulb swap...assuming they are typical 9005 and 9006. Nope, literally big ol' 3rd-Gen Firebird light housings... Aftermarket non-sealed-beam lights I stole from my second 300ZX before it was destroyed in the arsonist's fire... Retta Headlights 2a.jpg ...
