Asked the same thing a found out the you can't really do it on a '96 because they only made autos in '96 and there are conflicts with the computer and whatnot. If I ever do an engine swap, the auto tranny is going also. I wouldn't say it's not worth it, because driving an auto is no fun, but for now...

Look through similar cars and see if there is a key in one of those that will work.

Doubtless there will be many different opinions on this on, but I was just wondering what everybody thought.

I don't suppose there is any way you could get a different bulb for the actual projector? Possibly one that shines brighter? Or one that projects a darker color?

In aircraft the HUD is projected onto either one or two panes of glass inside the cockpit. Try putting a piece of glass between the windshield and the projector. See how that fares.

I'm sure you know what you're doing, but wheel wells tend to be, well, prone to collect mass quantities of debris and whatever else may be on the road. Isn't there a less splash prone location where the filter could be located?
