Re: O ring for Tube
Seriously, the dealer mark up on the o-ring even it it was huge isn't going to be more than a buck... LOL Stuff like that is cheap, its stuff like lugnuts and crap like that that costs you.

Re: January 2010 Project Begins (Raspberry)
Are the 3500 head exhaust ports larger than 3400 ones? I know the manifolds are a lot bigger, but can't recall if the ports on the heads are bigger too or not. That o-ring probably fits even the old MPFI motors.. LOL But yeah they asked what vehicle year and I said, "any thing with a 3400, LX9,...

Re: January 2010 Project Begins (Raspberry)
Just go to the dealership. Every time I've gone in I tell them what I need (3400 oil pump distributor drive oring gasket/etc blah blah) and they say Ah yeah I know what you are talking about and ask if I want the gasket for the top too. I say yes as it's extra leak insurance. But yes make sure the o...

Re: January 2010 Project Begins (Raspberry)
It goes to 5800 rpm before the rev limiter stops it, and it sees that at least 4 times for every time I drive some where. 1st is held a lot, and 1st kick downs occur a lot. ;) http://isaachayes.60degreev6.com/videos/timingchain.wmv" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I replaced ...

Re: O ring for Tube
Those metal pipes go to the heater core. One goes to the water pump, one goes to the bottom of the LIM. Lines from a 3100 beretta would be best to start with.

Re: January 2010 Project Begins (Raspberry)
Yeah, MPB, you pull up on the cap and out comes the shaft. Don't be skerd.
Jon, my chain at like 180k or somewhere around there was horribly stretched. But I beat on the 3100 all the time so it sees high RPMs all the time.

Re: January 2010 Project Begins (Raspberry)
MPB, just get some channel locks and use those to yank up on the dist oil drive shaft. Rotate back and forth if it gets stuck.

Yeah if you are trying to get the most out of it with spark, then you will want to monitor knock.

Re: 3500 N/A auto in the 12's?
Gear drive won't work with a knock sensor..... So that idea goes out the window.

Re: 3500 N/A auto in the 12's?
So what cam is going into this 2nd motor and what is all done to it???
Going to have the original motor with a cam just sitting? LOL
Might want to look on 60* about the cam bearing issue Jon had. Might want to get heavy duty aluminum ones.

Going to need some N2O with that cam to get 12's
SuperDave was close, but his cam was huge compared to yours. And he had long tube headers...

Re: January 2010 Project Begins (Raspberry)
I've never removed the exhaust crossover. Removing the UIM though will help a lot, and doesn't take much time to do.
