Re: Pace Car, Convertible, and engine spec thread

Enlighten me, it' advertised that the block has improved oiling and also beefier construction to balance the aluminium strength, so what makes it less reliable?

Re: Pace Car, Convertible, and engine spec thread

Too bad no-one have tried to replicate that engine build :(

Interesting that they used 'Celebrity' rear springs on the suspension, I wonder are they still available. The aftermarket rear springs for L-body are all too weak.

Re: Various vehicle and spring heights....

I got some from archives and measured today I measured to where the glossy paint starts on fender to center of axle, the standard way of measuring this so the tires, pressure or weather wont affect it. It's also how cars are measured here in the inspection. 1992 3.1/5spd GT, today. (3/4 tank of fuel...

Gotta love free pickup for junk cars.

Someone else gave up that Nissan on the tow truck, year model 2000~ and complete, to the crusher. Oh well, the average crusher age of car is 19 years here, with the median car age being 15 years.

Re: New old stock Beretta parts sold here>http://www.vpartsinc.com/

Got few items from then in the past years like tie rod ends, engine mounts and stuff, the quality of those is about 50x better than the Taiwanese crap. Too bad most of the important parts were sold out years ago.

Re: Add AUX audio input to your stock GM radio DIY

I did the same thing like 18 years ago in my old boombox (so I could hook it up to PC), but just wired it to cassette input instead of radio input like this guide does :)

Re: I'm still here

Nope, actually down scaling my inventory radically. Throwing parts away if they been stored forever, selling what sells. For example, why store cruise control, when I have total of 0 cruise control failures of any of my cars ever. Or 3 sets of stock headlights while none of my cars has stock headlig...

It's crusher time for my first Beretta (91 eurospec GTZ) that's been sitting as parts storage for several years.

Sadly, current daily driver, black W26 is next on the list this fall. Then there will be just my white 90 GTZ left.

Re: School me on HID conversions...

I tried 50W HID bulbs on place of stock high beams, end result was extremely bright "low beam" with significantly less range than with halogen high beams :)
