i did a carbon fiber vinyl wrap on the plastic pieces in the door jamb. i have enough to do the handle columns but weather wouldnt let me get to it. what do you guys think? with the exception of a couple of bubbles it wasnt that bad and looks pretty darn good. if you look at the door handle columns you can see the condition they are in. so i figured i would try the vinyl wrap...

I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Hey the older car had metal ones, most of the time they still have good paint, if you want to upgrade that is. I got rid of my ABS ones real quick.

 thank you

there is a steep learning curve. heating it with a dryer or heat gun helps with the wrapping and its kinda like wrapping a christmas present(which i dont do well) you have to make cuts here and there to get it to lay down right. the curves there are the more of a pain in the arse i can be. i've got to pick up more vinyl and anticipate having quite a bit leftover. i was contemplating doing the filler panels or the trim around the bottom of the car.....dont want to get crazy with it though.

You could do the radio bezel or the shift plate too. They shouldn't be too hard

i thought about that but i just painted those up last week 8) i'm not sure the material is wide enough, so it would have to be pieced. i pulled the window switch panel to see if the leftovers i had would cover it but it looked like it would be more trouble to make it look right than i wanted to put in it. trimming things out and what not...

You did a pretty good job and turned out better than I anticipated (when I read the thread title).

I've been contemplating buying some vinyl sheets to try out some stuff with, but never knew what I could wrap with it LOL...

Looks good :good: ... I thought about doing mine that way years ago when i played around with it. I did the gauge overlay , e-brake handle , engine caps , and a few others . Only downfall is over the years it will tend to bubble and peel from the heat/weather. Spray some clearcoat over it ... maybe it will last longer?

That looks really, really good. I have been thinking about this exact project for my car and the fillers. I also thought about the grilles & headlight buckets for the Camaro. I have tried some vinyl wrapping years ago and I was terrible at it. The payoff looks good though, and I think it's about time for another try!

i finished the other side just a while ago and rushed it which yielded a few small bubbles =@ its hot as hog tits outside so hopefully it wont get jacked up and peel away. either way it looks decent and i have quite a bit left. what else to do.... :P

Take a tiny needle & poke the center of the bubble and try to squeeze the air out ... I think ya should do the doorhandles too - they look kinda naked now

I was discussing this with my dad a few days ago! I showed this to him, and he likes it alot. I do too. Is there a reason you didn't do the handle? The handle sticks out like a sore thumb with it like that, it's made that way to blend in with the B pillar. I might get some of this and do this too. I was thinking about doing my spoiler because the clear coat is gone on top. I'd just do the top, and leave the red outline around the brake light. I'm glad I got to see this before I did it! Can you take a pic of the car a little furthur back, so I can see how it looks from a distance?
