Relocating the coils

Where would be the alternative spot to relocate the coils?
I have been wanting to do this for sometime, but never really saw a spot that it would fit right.
I was thinking of using a fender brace bar by drilling a couple holes into it, but then I thought about the grounding part of it. Would it ground out well anywhere else?

You can mount them pretty well anywhere you like. Just remember they get HOT, and need air and the attached bracket. It acts as a sort of heat sink.

I thought the ignition module/coils bracket needs to be grounded out to a solid source?
So you're saying as long as its not getting hit by weather it should be fine on where I put it...?

yeah basically what he said, anywhere, on the 3.1 and 2.8 the are also exposed to the weather somewhat so that really isn't a concern as long as the weather seals on the wires are good and the wires are good too. Get crazy.

I'll hop on the bandwagon as well, as long as they aren't in excessive moisture they should be fine in most locations.

Okay then, I am going to take my fender brace I made and drill a couple holes in it then attach the coils to that after I get done screwing around with the turbo today.

My car ran with the coils ungrounded. It must have a ground in the main harness because I fired mine ran just fine with it disconnected. I put mine in the firewall. I found a few holes already so I made a bracket to fit. Then I just got some cut to fit wires as you can see in my sig and viola. I would like to make a new bracket from aluminum one of these days so that it the coils wont burn up too quickly.

I plan to locate them on the rad support, and there will be a shroud around/under it so it doesn't get wet when the fan kicks on..
Minds well go custom for everything since this is a wack job car now.
