Front license plate holder

Post by hacknfrack »

My car is registered in Kansas, a state that doesn't require two license plates.  Just recently I've started toying with the idea of taking off the license plate holder on the front bumper.  It looks easy to do; take break the adhesive to the bumper and unbolt the bottom.

Is there likely to be anything unsightly that would require body work if I did take it off?  Any tips on breaking the adhesive (dental floss?)?

Thanks.

Front license plate holder

None of mine have had adhesive, just 4 screws to hold them on.  Two of the screws are hidden under the license plate.  They will leave holes once removed, which depending on how dark your car is and whether you have moldings may or may not be noticeable.  If you can, cut the hanging urethane/plastic off the edges, fill the holes with whatever, and hit it with some touch-up paint.
