HIDS

Post by pghz26 »

i wanted to get an HID conversion kit for my 95 z26. but all the kits seem to only work with two bulbs but as we all know berettas have 4 bulbs. does anyone know if it is ok to buy the kit for two or something. i have no idea. any help would be appreciated. for once i am completly stumped.

The HID bulbs only replace the low-beams. That is completely normal.

you can buy two kits, one for 9005 and one for 9006 if you want, and yes you would need 4 ballasts... thats the downfall of our cars having two individual bulbs for high's and lows.

But replacing the highs with HIDs is not usually that effective unless you use them a lot. That's in part due to the warm-up time for them, they're not usually ideal for the highs.

This is true, I didn't like the fact that I had my lows on as HID's before since when I would go back and forth the lows would take time to brighten, unless you wire up the hi w/low always on option... But I have since sold that kit so both of my cars are now just Silverstar bulbs.

I was thinking of getting HID's for the pink car but I'm not in a financial state to do so right now.

I have my car wired with an auxiliary harness and hi/low setup. Not HID but still (260W) bright...

I picked up a set of HIDs for the F150 last year for $200. They sure have gotten less expensive!

There were some good kits I was looking at for 180, I've seen them in someones car and saw that they do not need a long time to warm up, they are like instant on. I can't remember the brand right now, and I'm gonna try to find it.
