This was stickied over on bstuff but since that site is gone I'd share it with you guys. What made me decide to share is that I read someone saying they do the e-brake trick with their drl's which makes me cringe a little lol. The DRL module is hidden with velcro underneath the heater control knobs on the backside. When you unplug the module you loose the ground for your drivers side highbeam I believe and also the highbeam indicator ground in the dash which means they wont light up. I dug my pictures up for you guys but I can't tell you the exact wire locations and colors but I sure you can compare my pictures to whats in your car and figure it out. Happy trails!

This does spark me to ask a question:

On the 95 base, it appears to have DRLs as the lights are on when its running. Not only that, it appears to turn all the lights on if the overall outdoor light is too low, such as ugly rainy weather or at night. I never even have to flip the light switch on.

Now, this thing also has an alarm system, with remote entry for the doors. I even have theater dimming on the interior lighting. I don't recall any beretta having any of these features, so not sure if they are part of the 95+ or part of the alarm system. Thoughts?

My 95 has all of those things, factory equipped. DRLS unless the sensor reads that it is dark, then it automatically turns the regular headlights on. And the dimming on the interior lights.

I havent used my switch in years lol.

I did noticed the headlights are a tiny touch brighter though if I turn them on, vs the auto. Not much difference though. Now I need to fix the brights. I know there is a thread around here with info on adjusting that switch..... Sorry for the OT...

Yeah, mine are the same way. Not enough to make a difference.

I think late 95's had drl's also, not just 96's. If it was me you seen speaking of the ebrake trick, I obviously don't drive with the ebrake on, so I don't know why this would make you cringe lol. I also noticed that the auto headlights are slightly dimmer than they are with the switch on. My old 95 base had the dimming int. lights also, but that did not have drl's so I think maybe it was a 95-96 thing.? I can't remember how the int. lights were on my old 90, so I don't know. This is intresting, but not something I wanna do, as it messes with your high beams and the dash light. I would like to be able to disable them without making something else not work, otherwise I'll just put up with them. The only thing I really cant stand, is that I cant shut my lights off, period! They are always on, unless the car is off, obviosly, or I do the ebrake trick. That requires me to set the ebrake, turn the car off, and then turn the car back on. It just an annoying inconvenience cause by a standard convenience option.

I simply took that e-brake wire that goes to the DRL module and put it on a switch that goes to ground, so anytime it's on the DRL's stay off thinking the parking brake is on, but if I want to use the DRL feature I can just flip that swith back off and they operate as they normally would.

My 95 must have been early in the year, because it didn't have them. But I did snip the wires for the auto door lock. haha

My 95 didn't have them either, it was actually a really late option.
