Post by themadness »

are there any other cars with factory lower suspension that will work on our cars? i have seen a couple of 2000+ Z24s, monte carlos and grand prix at a yard that i may be able get for about 100 dollars. i was hoping it might a "plug and play" type swap.....

94 and older front springs fit these following vehicles.
BUICK SKYLARK (1987 - 1998)
BUICK SOMERSET 1987
CHEVROLET BERETTA (1992 - 1996)
CHEVROLET CAVALIER (1987 - 1993)
CHEVROLET CORSICA (1990 - 1996)
OLDSMOBILE ACHIEVA (1992 - 1997)
OLDSMOBILE CALAIS 1987
OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS CALAIS (1988 - 1991)
PONTIAC GRAND AM (1987 - 1998)

Rear springs fit these
BUICK SKYHAWK (1982 - 1985)
BUICK SKYLARK (1991 - 1994)
CADILLAC CIMARRON (1982 - 1988)
CHEVROLET BERETTA (1987 - 1994)
CHEVROLET CAVALIER (1982 - 1994)
CHEVROLET CORSICA (1989 - 1994)
OLDSMOBILE ACHIEVA 1994
OLDSMOBILE FIRENZA (1982 - 1985)
PONTIAC GRAND AM (1989 - 1991)
PONTIAC J2000 (1982 - 1985)
PONTIAC SUNBIRD (1986 - 1993)

95+ fronts fit
BUICK SKYLARK (1987 - 1998)
BUICK SOMERSET 1987
CHEVROLET BERETTA (1992 - 1996)
CHEVROLET CAVALIER (1987 - 1993)
CHEVROLET CORSICA (1990 - 1996)
OLDSMOBILE ACHIEVA (1992 - 1997)
OLDSMOBILE CALAIS 1987
OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS CALAIS (1988 - 1991)
PONTIAC GRAND AM (1987 - 1998)

95+ Rears fit
CHEVROLET BERETTA (1995 - 1996)
CHEVROLET CORSICA (1995 - 1996)
PONTIAC GRAND AM (1995 - 1998)

That is your only "plug and play" option. Anything beyond that is custom fab work needed, or at least test fitting and seeing what springs will do what.

I don't see this on the home page. Is it a sticky somewhere?
When I was looking for spring mounts I swear that some Buick had the same mounts as my 95. There were two others also that had the same mounts. It would be helpful for those of us that have these newer rear mounts that can't be bought anywhere but a junk yard.

I'm using rockauto and click on the PN to see what other vehicles it fits.

There is no PN listing for the rear spring mounts for a 95+ on rockauto so unless you've test fitted something I can't give you that info. Also no rear spring mounts can be bought... regardless of year.

Wow I thought you listed that off the top of your head.

Isaac Hayes needed some rear mounts and I needed some spares. I looked at every GM car in the JY and found three models that had them. I should have made a note(really dorpped the ball on that one).
I thought Moog still had insolators for the older cars.

I will probably be trying to find something universal that will fit my 96 sometime soon... The rubber is just getting old.
