94-96 A-arms Poly Alternative

Want some new struts? What brand springs to buy? How much camber to run? What brake pads? What's the best setup for your situation....

94-96 A-arms Poly Alternative

Post by Saphire Mule »

Hey has anyone used a set of Energy Suspension A-Arm bushings on a 1994 to 1996 Beretta with the sports suspension?(rear bushing is vertical)
If so what number did you order?
The 3.3154G and the 3.3154R are not the right ones.

Thanks

Here is a link to see the work I have done on my Beretta, Thanks for looking.

A-arms bushings

So far as far as we know nobody makes a set that fits.  Im trial fitting a pair from a 3rd gen cavalier pretty soon.  RKsport sells them.  Not sure if they fit or not yet tho.

A-arms bushings

Post by Saphire Mule »

Hey Chris88CL
Thanks for the info
I ordered a set for a 1998 Chevy Cavalier from Summit Racing. Part # PTP-7-234 for $30.39
The horizontal ones are a direct fit. The Vertical back ones will fit but you need to machine or grind the A-arm socket (or metal rim) down to 5/8" thick. I milled 175 thousands off each side or about 3/16" They fit great. I will be checking on the height of the back bushing compared to stock it may be just a little shorter (flat washer on top and bottom maybe). I will also be comparing the back pivot bushing on the rear axle to the cavaliers to see if energy suspension has those also.
I will post some pics later this week

Just to let everyone know there is 300 thousands difference in height on the back bushing,
and to use 2 grade 8 washers one on top and one on the bottom to make up this difference. Will try to post these pics.

94+ control arms with cavalier bushings installed.

I will be doing this with mine sometime soon... I am already running the fronts, I just need to get another set of control arms and I can do the full setup since what I have is somewhat rough.

I would actually like to find a set of rails in decent condition too.

This may be a dumb question to some but its an honest one.

What is the name of the part that runs side to side in this pic? The shiny silver piece? And is it from a Beretta? If so where can we get new ones?

Sorry I'm not good when it comes to part names.

the two silver ones? that would be the subframe. Where to get them new? don't know, but you can find them in most yards and are quite sturdy as long as they haven't been eaten by salt.
