wondering who sells the best front sway bar

Want some new struts? What brand springs to buy? How much camber to run? What brake pads? What's the best setup for your situation....

wondering who sells the best front sway bar

Post by JeffD »

i currently have a Z-51 sway bar in the front of my car, and i just installed a z-21 internal bar and a Z-51 external bar in the rear. now it corners decently, but you can tell that the front swaybar needs to be stiffer.
does anyone have any suggestions? good/bad stories on particular brands?
thanks
-Jeff

30mm is the largest front bar you can get... You can try to get an Addco piece, but getting an FE3 bar is just as good, cheaper, and easier to get. You can also do an FE7 direct acting bar, but those are harder to come by, and the endlinks are harder and harder to get ahold of depending on the year of bar you get (they use the heim joint type endlinks).

I'd get an Addco rear bar, as those are 26mm and are worth every penny.

A FWD car has a very bad tendancy to understeer.  The best way to correct this is to run a large rear bar or the two bar setup like you already have.  Some people even go so far as to install a smaller front sway bar.  If you want less body roll your best bet is to install stiffer springs on all 4 corners.

Berettas were one of the best handling FWD cars when they were new and are still very competitive in handling performance today.  .83 G skidpad is very respectible for a car in this category.

Get the Eibachs. They won't lower the car as much as Intrax, but they won't bounce as much as Intrax, and offer better handling.

You would be better off getting a 30mm bar from any FE3 Beretta at a JY... IIRC, the Addco front bar has rubbing issues with something or other.

The Addco rear bar is definately worth getting though.
