sounds like a fantasy right? well to me it was.. until 20 minutes ago. I found a guy on a 4x4 forum selling a rear wheel drive Beretta. how can this be? you may ask. I did too..
the man put his Beretta body on a Chevrolet S10 sub frame. now this is either a stroke of genius, or completely moronic. now before you go claiming its fake, I seen pictures. here is a link. http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread ... 065&page=2 The greatest thing is the v8 inside this puppy.
I pm'd the man asking how he did it, how he matched up the body to the frame and what not. hopefully hell get back to me shortly so I can share with this wonderful forum and all the Beretta lovers alike. I would lover to do this to my Beretta.

There are several of those things kicking around.
Pretty much old news for the most part.

That car looks like a hack job... but yes the whole beretta body on an S10 frame is about the only way that people have done it "quickly"

If I had the money to burn my car would be at my cousins shop and we would be making it a RWD setup, I have complete trust in the stuff he builds since he has a 6sec certified Chromoly S10 drag truck that he built from the ground up, showed up as boxes of bent tubing... But this is the real world and I don't have 70k to burn, plus it's more fun to make a FWD v6 fast... it's a challenge. Mine kinda sounds like a v8...

I actually priced it a few years ago.

http://www.smithperformance.com

About $22K for a rolling chassis ready for engine and trans along with some wiring.

You simply supply a rust free car.

But this info has been around for years.

I've always thought it would be a fun project to make a tube chassis Beretta. If I had the room to store my old Z26 it would have been a good car to hack up.

And Jon, you car does sound kinda like a v8 at idle, but as soon as you're above idle it's obvious it's a 6. There's really no way to change a v6 sound like a v8. If there was everyone would do it. haha

There is a guy locally has a Viper V-10 in a dragster.
It sounds ridiculous!!
Only V-8's sound like V-8's under load it seems.

I think others agree, it's still an s10. It just looks like a beretta. Cheating?

I am doing this now and let me tell you, to do it right is damn expensive!

But when it's done it will look 100% stock, run well into the 11's, get almost 20 MPG, have AC and be a reliable daily driver!

Got $35K and a rust free chassis kicking around?
