Z51 sway bar aftermarket bushing?
Z51 sway bar aftermarket bushing?
Anyone know of any aftermarket poly bushing that will properly fit in the plastic triangle brackets?
I have only found stock gm ones which are very expensive (nearly $20 each)
I anyone even has a part number for Regular rubber bushings that would be ok I'm just not looking to spend $80 on stock rubber
Lmk thanx!

Measure the bar and buy the right ones... I think the Z51 is 19mm
You my friend need lessons in searching for stuff on the interwebs...

Bar and two of the bushings that come in this kit... I sold this setup to Scd88ga or whatever his name was... Wish I didn't but oh well I have the addco.
Re: Z51 sway bar aftermarket bushing?
I did search the inter-web and buy the ones for my size bar Jon i cannot remember where because it has been a year, but the bushings were about 1/8" to short width wise to properly fit in the triangle brackets properly, which is why i asked if anyone knew of any that were the same size as stock, ill post pix of the stock vs aftermarket ones i ordered for my size bar when i get home, they aren't the same..

Re: Z51 sway bar aftermarket bushing?
Then I guess that's a question for Energy Suspension since those are supposed to be for that style bar since it's the only bar that ever came on a beretta other than the welded in one on the newer Z's. As well as the only aftermarket bushings out there.
Re: Z51 sway bar aftermarket bushing?
Ok so i believe i just figured out what happined, i ordered the wrong ones before obviously LOL
These are i believe the correct ones for the Z51 rear sway bar, i will order them to make sure but its what energy suspension lists for a 19mm rear sway bar..

Re: Z51 sway bar aftermarket bushing?
Yeah that's whats pictured above and you can see the red bushings are near identical to the black oem ones...
Re: Z51 sway bar aftermarket bushing?
I'm pretty sure the Z51 bar was 21MM and the hollow non-Z51 bar was 19MM, but I'll measure when I get home and confirm.

Re: Z51 sway bar aftermarket bushing?
No way... Addco's largest rear bar is 19mm and I know for a fact that the Z51 bar was not larger than that. It's ~3/4" bar if you want inch measurement.
The one pictured above was solid and I purchased the 19mm bushings for it... I remember that much about it.

Just Calaford Maizie 51 solid swaybar and it is nearly 21mm thick (.815")

Re: Z51 sway bar aftermarket bushing?
I just went out and measured my solid Z51 bar, and it is indeed 21MM as I remembered. The hollow bars are 19MM stock. I was pretty sure it was 21MM, cuz I knew the Addco one was around the same size and I didn't understand why people would go with that vs. the Z51 since they were almost the same and the Z51 could be had for a fraction of the cost.

Re: Z51 sway bar aftermarket bushing?
crap, I was just served...
I believe some went addco because the Z51 is getting harder to find, and was hard back then too... at least it was way easier for me to get the addco than it was the factory bar when I was looking into it. Nevermind the whole 95+ rear axle fitment issues... I know I could have probably done the same thing with the Z51 as I did the addco though.
I gotta read more I guess... LOL

Addco bar is 1" for the rear... not 3/4 so thats 25.4mm, another good reason to go to that over Z51... I knew it was bigger than the factory bar but I guess I was stuck on 19mm being the largest there was.

they will probably be tight but should be able to fit them... if not you have the ability to bore them to 20mm... Don't go to exactly 21, you don't want it loose.Slinky wrote:crap hope my 19mm ones fit
Re: Z51 sway bar aftermarket bushing?
Was at autozone the other day and they had the 21mm in stock according to there pc inventory.
