Which way do the strut bearings go on? It has been a while since i took mine apart and don't really remember. I can't find anything that says the direction they go. I think it goes.

Strut mount
Flat Black metal ring
Bearing with white side up
spring seat
spring seat insulator

Is this correct?

I saw the thread on the 95+ and that is the same way I have mine(minus the plastic spacer). I wanted to confirm it is the same for other years. No need to pull one unless you were already planning on it.

Jon, Isn't your INDY the older style strut mounts?

The stock setup is, It's currently 96 style mounts with the Koni's but I thought he would be looking for in instructions for his 92 setup which is the same as the old Indy's struts.

You will need that plastic spacer, or want it... otherwise you will have camber you wont be able to adjust out without opening up the holes on the strut and going to the extreme. It's there to counteract the low spot from where the coil ends.

I am putting it back to stock temporarily. The collars I got from you for my konis do not fit inside the strut housings I was using so I have to find some other ones to use. My understanding was the spacer is only for 95+.

Ok I miss understood your last statement with Cliff questioning my plan, and yeah that spacer is mostly specific to 95+ as well as the upper mount is also different.

What brand strut housings did you attempt to use? I've successfully got them to fit in KYB's and a set of Gabriels recently that Robert had me build for him.

I don't know what brand they are. My first set of Konis came preinstalled in them when I got them. I will look again for a brand when I get home. I have a set of monroes somewhere. I just need to find them. I need ones with the tab for my swaybar endlinks.

Yeah. I had to put the Beretta on hold. I had a lot of personal crap going on for a while.

I never realized there were 3 different mounts, but only two different struts...

The 87-91 all metal with integrated bearing.

92-94 plastic with separate bearing

That's weird... I thought the pre 95 struts had a longer top thread to fit the metal style mounts.

The ones with the longer top were only 87-91. The 92-96 are the same in that respect.
