Neon Rear Disc Brake Upgrade.

Want some new struts? What brand springs to buy? How much camber to run? What brake pads? What's the best setup for your situation....

He doesnt have any of the ebrake stuff with it... and with a 5spd the ebrake is essential. I dont have time to source ebrake stuff now either. I could still buy it and put it on the back burner though.

That was easy...

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalo ... d=cat30058

Park brake kit on top
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalo ... d=cat30058

Only thing you need is the lever which can probably be had from any dealership

Two numbers for the park brake lever. I'm not sure which one is which. I'm guessing the 8113 is left.
04728112 (LEVER and LINK ASSEMBLY, p/brake rear wheel, right)
04728113 (LEVER and LINK ASSEMBLY, p/brake rear wheel)

And if you need backing plates

Two for the backing plate/shield, again, I'm guessing the second one is left
04728110 (SHIELD, rear wheel disc brake, right)
04628111 (SHIELD, rear wheel disc brake)

It's not ment to be able to lock up the tires when you get enough horse power that extra stopping power is essential.

It's more of efficiency and control when it comes to the disc brake upgrade. You can play with those much more than you can drums and you have more options to work with.

And you can lock the back brakes and burnout before your run, without sliding all over.

Im not a huge fan of the stock neon e-brake. Granted im using junkyard shoes and crappy rotors, it does not work that good. I can hold a burnout, but other then that there a pain. They drag sometimes, make a lot of noise, lock really hard if the car creeps backward before you engage it, etc.

I may have another trick up my sleeve, the neon setup will be forsale if thats the case.

I have no issues with my setup and I'm also using all the JY parts I never replaced my shoes.

It may be user error... LOL

I don't know what else he can put there thats any better except for a larger disc setup and then putting a line lock on both ABS lines going back there, but even then I'm not sure if the calipers can hold enough to keep the car still... 90% of the time our cars will drag the rear tires even if they are not rolling.

Ya I no what your talking about I was just talking about stoping period. How would I make it stop faster if I already lock up the tires when i apply the breaks enough?

Better struts and shocks wont hurt either for stopping distance.
