I'm gonna smack you with the ban stick.
Can a mod ban a mod... Hrmmmm
All your questions and statements were applicable though, hence the lack of sarcasm detection...

Re: Best strut mount? Kyb?
Here are pics of the ACDelco upper mounts.
They come with the mount the angled spacer, the steel spacer, the bearing and the metal dish washer for the top... Mine look like hell and Monroe ones don't come with that.
It also has a collar type hat thing that fits around the strut threads but will not fit into the black part of the upper mount, so I have no idea if I'm supposed to use it at all... no assy instructions with it.
Only bad thing... Maybe... ACDelco is Made in Taiwan.
Also got all the rest of the parts. I'm very happy with the bellows that I got from Moog VERY similar to factory and not cheezy like the Monroe ones are.

Re: Best strut mount? Kyb?
I've heard of people fabbing a bar that bolts in where the rear shock would go. Zero rear suspension travel and no squat...

Re: Best strut mount? Kyb?
Hey Jon,
Is there anyways that you would do a "How To" type of thing as you put the struts together? I soo want to do this myself but I have no idea where to start about the bearings and all that.
Or should i just let the people that already know what they're doing handle it?

He's already done a writeup for a how to, check the suspension section.

Re: Best strut mount? Kyb?
It's actually pinned right above this in this forum... LOL It tells you which way to orientate the top spring insulator, and which way the spacer should face for either side. Thick side inboard, and the flat spot on the insulator should be facing outboard.

If your 94 is in any way different, please get pictures since I know there was a 94 thread on Bstuff before that died.

Re: Best strut mount? Kyb?
Updated my thread with pictures of assy and how everything went together... Left front strut of mine was definately having issues... hold the bottom steady and the piston shaft would clunk back and forth.. the RF had a similar thing but SO little movement you could barely tell.

Re: Best strut mount? Kyb?
nope. What a few are doing is cutting up the OEM strut and getting Koni Yellow inserts for a J-body.speedy wrote:wait, you can still buy koni's for these cars??? i though they stopped making them? or maybe its a different brand im thinking of? do they still make struts for the gtz's with fe7? sorry for the dumb questions, i honestly cant remember??

Re: Best strut mount? Kyb?
I'll be replacing my aged Bilstiens and Eibachs (they are 10 years old) after BFest... unfortunately I don't have the time or money to get them done before the fest.
New Koni inserts, new Eibachs, and new mounts all around!

Re: Best strut mount? Kyb?
Find a shop that rebuilds the Bilsteins, they are much better than Koni's. We haver several shops here that re-build Bilsteins, so i'm sure you can find one too...
