Quad 4 fuel rail input fitting

Post by yellow3800 »

Scenario:  fuel rail leaks when car shuts off at this input fitting of the quad fuel rail.  When the fuel line is removed from this piece, the female fitting imbedded in the fuel rail WOBBLES.  I have another fuel rail that does not wobble.

Is this a pressed fitting deal that needs to be replaced with a different fuel rail?

Quad 4 fuel rail input fitting

I tried to destroy the fuel rail using a vice, and still no luck.  This input fitting [opposite end of regulator] is most likely pressed in.  An exploded parts view of a fuel rail didn't pick this fitting as a separate part of the rail, so it must be part of the rail.  If fuel leaks from this end, and its not from the threads, the fuel rail needs replacing.  This happened after this piece was wobbled around too much and it hallowed out the fitting to rail seal.

I'll trade somebody a grand am fuel rail [with injectors] for a beretta fuel rail [no injectors]!
