3400 swap is calling me.......
I am completely obsessed with swapping a 3400 for my semi-built 3.1 mpfi to the point I'm considering selling my JDM h22a build for my Accord. The 3400 has taken control of me LOL..
I have found tons on the swap a just have a few questions for the people who know or have done it already so correct me if I'm wrong but...
-Need a custom motor mount (I'm pre 92)
-Can keep my factory computer (chipped to run 3.4 injectors)?
-Use all/most of my factory sensors
-use factory alternator
-Keep my 5spd trans
-New down pipie
-mod 2.8/3.1 egr or delete it
-95 or so throttle cable
-change upper rad hose (I heard chevy venture lower)
Fill me in if I missed anything
I was going to see if WOT can make me the chip for this swap..
thanks to who ever helps me with this info

The LA1 is 185 HP... aren't you already near that number with all the mods on your 2.8 you posted about elsewhere?
Sure, the LA1 has more potential but if you replaced your pistons with forged units when you bored the 2.8 you should, theoretically, be able to use nitrous, or boost without fear.
I'm sure you know about the 3.5 LX9, I would suggest that swap at this point. 3400's are very plentiful, but there is an increasing number of LX9's becoming available in scrap yards. 15hp and more torque over the 3400 for a little more time and money.
It's very nearly the same swap, the only difference is that you need a 3400 fuel rail for fuel pressure regulation, a throttle body adapter and a external crank trigger since the crank sensor is a different pattern and is incompatible with our electronics.
Good luck!

I'm gonna see how much I can get one for
The engine shop said it would run 6psi all day I originally had nos for it but sold it

Right, cast pistons will run 6-9 psi but it's detonation that will kill your engine. Cast pistons will crack under too much detonation, so you had better have a very conservative tune to prevent any problems. This remains true for the 3400/3500 engines as well, so whatever route you take you'll want to look into new pistons if you are considering boost or NOx.

Just curious, what kind of power is your 2.8/3.1 making? I never did anything with my 2.8 besides play around with the tune. I wondered what the N/A max power would have been.

I have never dyno'd it yet, I'm running a cam with no tune and its still faster than stock. I'm going to order a WOT chip and give him my mods and cam specs once I do that I will have it dyno'd this summer and give you the results. If I'm not pushing at least 160hp I'm going 3400/3500 route

Re: 3400 swap is calling me.......
Never put forged pistons in my builds and I'm one of few who run nitrous all the time at the strip.
My new 3500 build will be with stock pistons as well because there are no pistons designed for the 3500 yet so I would have had to order 100% custom slugs... Not high on my mod list till I crack one of those suckers, especially with what they would have charged me... Also please take note... There are no aftermarket rod or main bearings for a 3500 like there is for the 3400... Also no aftermarket rod options... There are at least two different options for the 3400.
If I blow up this 3500 I will be building a high compression forged 3400 bottom end to replace it.

Re: 3400 swap is calling me.......
This is true. I didn't realize it was Alex selling the bracket. He should know that stuff he has listed has a better chance selling here than over there seeing how it's all beretta specific.
Re: 3400 swap is calling me.......
I have a .pdf file to build your own 5-speed version of the front bracket...
