Will i inflict damage to my car if i attempt to run it without a battery??? the battery i can borrow is a 12v bus battery. my thought was to get the car running and move it to where it needs to go and shut it off again. I need to figure out something by May/June time frame.

As some of you may say "go buy a battery" i don't want to spend the 60-100 dollars for a battery when the car isn't road worthy. The most this car will run would be up at car dolly and then up to drive way into another garage.

Some cars will not run without a battery. Borrow the battery and take it out when you are done.

The second you disconnect the battery the engine will stop.

A battery from the wrecker is like 20 t0 30 bucks most offer some sort of warranty..

If your alt is in working order, and you have good wiring, the car should not die once the battery terminal is pulled from the battery for your car (assuming it's stock with no amp or major adds like lighting, heated seats, disco-ball) .

As long as the 12V battery used has the CCA to properly start the car, it will not matter.

That's what I thought I'm sure I ran mine with no battery to see if my alt was working properly.

I'm not so sure about that.
I had a parts car at one point that would not turn off with the key and I had to disconnect the battery to shut it off.
Try it and find out.

I once pulled the battery on a running 68 Camaro, lack of a battery made the alternator run the voltage high
and it burned out my radio and some bulbs.
I'd try and put some kind of 12 volt battery in there even a weak one.

Do not run it without a battery. If you can borrow one and just move it to where you want it than that's fine but don't attempt to break the connection or drive it without one. The risk of a surge wrecking all your electronics is too great. And I guess I'll be that guy, buy the battery and slap a battery tender on it and you won't have to worry about it dying on you ever, don't be lazy or half ass it.

great idea on the battery tender, but the car is currently not road worthy so why would i spent 100 on a new battery. And my daily driver is a lease so that has a new battery.

lease the DD battery to the beretta for the short time being?

Well I just went down to the garage and tried it.

Started up the Quad, let it run for 10 minutes with the new fan on to make sure everything worked, disconnected the Negative battery terminal, got a very tiny spark, and it stopped dead!

Re-connected it and it started right up.

I think you need even a dead battery to complete the connection.

That's all I can offer!

Well it's a decision that you'll have to make whether it's worth it or not. If your just moving it a bit, can't you get a donor battery just for the duration?

Will a 96 quad fan fit an 88 v6

what I mean are the holes there for the fan to drop in?

the car is basically moving from the current garage, to a dolly, then towed 30 miles and driven back up into its new garage. i would take out the DD battery, but i need that car to move. i'll just have to go around and see if i can get a used battery somewhere. Most all of my friends have trucks and i know those batterys won't fit in a quad. would if i still had my 2.2 base.
