paint spots

Post by pghz26 »

i recently put the hood part of the bra on my 95 z26. i took it off 4 days later and there were 4 spots on the hood where the bra had been they were on the drivers side. they appeared to be under the clear coat and had made it to the actual paint. i tried wax, rubbing compound, and even a clay bar and it did nothing which led me to believe that it was the actual paint. the color of my car i believe is called black rose which is the really dark purple. i was wondering if anyone knows where this came from and if there is any way to fix it.

Black Rose Metallic is the name of your paint. The best option you have at this point is to re-paint your hood. And maybe blend in the fenders while your at it. If you absolutely must have a hood bra. Get some stick on stone guard stuff and put it on your hood where the bra will be and it won't eat the paint.
