remove front/rear window

well my retta is in pieces,but there is rust under the windows and i really want to get it done properly so the only way is to remove the windows..are they both glued?Something special that should be thought of while removing them?

I would see if you can have a glass company come out to do it. Its not the easiest thing to do, especially with one person.

I've replaced the windshield on a Beretta, and if you do it, it will kill your hands for DAYS. You have two options:

1. They make a wire that you use as a "saw" to cut the seal. glass specialists usually use a device that does this for them.

2. Use a hobby knife, or blade and work both the inside and outside (I chose this route) Even if you use the sharpest blade, it's still going to smart for awhile.

Easiest place to start is by removing the side trim pieces and cutting through there, followed by the bottom. Then the hardest is left for last, the top. When you replace the window, you should use the entire tube of glue to ensure a good seal. and try not to destroy the trim on the top of the window, so you can reuse that. Make sure to smear some of the windshield glue on the glass before putting it back on. I thought I could reuse the sealant it had on it, but didn't work as intended. Try and use a powered caulk gun, that stuff is hard to get out of the tube otherwise.

As for the body work, someone else will have to chime in. I sanded and primed the area but still had a small leak when it rained.

Also, the urethane (WindoWeld) has a expiration date. Make sure to remove as much of the excess urethane as you can. Also prime the window opening properly, there is a primer intended for this. When this step gets skipped that's what causes the rust. When applying the urethane, try to cut the tip of the tube in a "V" and use the tip flat against the surface (not at an angle). This will prevent air bubbles in your urethane. Don't be surprised if you need more than one tube for each window, definitely don't skimp on this stuff.

If you pull the fenders the front windshield is not a bad job. With the fenders on it is difficult to cut the bottom corners without scratching the fenders.

I'd say if you tape them, or cover them and be careful, it would be a lot easier instead of trying to refit the fenders correctly afterward.

the fenders is not an issue..the car is stripped ,no fenders,no hood,no trunk,no doors,no bumpers.

With it like that you can have the glass out in a matter of an hour. I would reccomend a cutting cable.
