5 speed

Post by speed7432 »

I was wondering if the 5 speed transmission in a 1996 pontiac sunfire was a getrag. If it is would it bolt up to my 1996 beretta base with a 3100?

you would need a v6 bell housing, otherwise, yes it will, shift cables may or may not work, they have a diff shifter, but im sure you could bolt it in and make it work, also, the gearing would be for a 4 cylinder, but in a v6 it makes it feel like you have waaay more torque and power, lol.

Speedy chill,

That is not the right trans. It is for the 2.0 and 2.2 4 banger only

go for a 93 sunfire trans but make sure it has the 3.1 in it that's were i got mine from.... and it will even bolt to a 3400 or a 3500 i do believe the mounting is the same.

You mean 93 V6 Sunbird, and a 93 V6 Beretta would have the same thing btw, and yes a 60 degree V6 is a 60 degree v6 (2.8, 3.1, 3100, 3400, 3500), same bellhousing bolt pattern.
