Asylum's '91 GTZ (Updated)
I really feel with my age and health issues it is time to move on.
1991 California original NO-Rust car!
Just under 73,000 original miles.
Still has original OEM clutch, works just fine.
I'm the third owner, know both of the previous guys, both of whom were Members on here.
Car was fully stripped and re-painted in 2010, House of Kolor "Absolute White" with 35% Platinum pearl.
All glass and trim removed, interior stripped, side moldings removed, body stripped to bare metal and all factory questionable primer removed.
GFX has no "smile".
Body is dead straight and all panels fit perfectly.
Ottawa Auto Body did an absolutely fantastic job! http://www.ottawa-auto.com
Car has the following. And more!
Eibach/Kyb suspension
New in 2010 Black filler panels. I have the MINT original clear ones.
Euro mirrors. I DON'T have the stock ones. "Styluss" has them though. (It looks a lot better with black mirrors.)
Viper alarm/keyless entry system.
Euro tail lights. I have the original MINT tail lights.
The car has a solid grill, and I have the "egg-crate" that is painted to match the car. I also have a black one with a blue logo/bowtie that I think looks the best.
Brand new NOS dew strips.
New headliner.
All original Factory glass with OEM markings. Windshield has been "jewelled" and is perfect.
LED spoiler light. I have the stock one, no corrosion or rust, with 4 new bulbs and is a plug and play replacement
Red Line hood struts.
McGard chrome lug nuts with locks and two keys.
Rodney Dickman shifter bushings.
Dr. Oldsmobile 2* cam gears.
Factory AM/FM/CD
W-41 IDI cover, and I have the OEM mint Quad cover and all the original bolts and fasteners.
Brand new Yokohama S-Drive 225/50/16 (Less than 500 miles.)
SBC brakes/rotors/shoes all around. (But not the '92+ upgrade)
Brand new AGM Battery.
This is an absolutely NO-RUST California car that has NEVER seen winter, snow or salt!
Best comment I ever heard was from a tech when I had it in for the last oil change, (I live in a Condo now and have to pay to get it done). "I know it's 25 years old, but under here it looks like they built it yesterday".
Clear California Title in hand.
Dash does have a bubble. NEW dash included!
Extra front seats 99% perfect included. Current interior is 95% and spotless.
A/C blows cold.
Any questions, just ask. You will have a very hard time finding a better one.
Let's just say it's $6000.
I have spared no expense on this car
Car is located near Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Cheers

Wow selling it huh.. I'm shocked I thought you would take it to the grave with you. Well good luck with your sale its worth every penny your asking one clean ass car.
Re: Asylum's '91 GTZ
Sorry to hear about health issues and that you are parting with it.
I have some interest in your car.
I have a question though. I think you once mentioned it still needed wet sanding and buff out
of the paint. Was that done? The car doesn't have much shine in the pictures.
Also, do you have any photos of the interior?

Re: Asylum's '91 GTZ
Because of the pearl (even though it is only 35% of the normal amount and quite subtle) the car does not photograph all that well.
On a sunny day it is actually difficult to look at for too long or it will give you a headache.
If you park it beside any other white car, the other car looks dirty. That is how white it is!
As for my thoughts on having it colour sanded, that would be just over-the-top, but tempting nonetheless.
Interior pics next time I take it out. Maybe on the weekend if the weather is nice.
However this all might be somewhat academic.
The car may well end up in Connecticut.

Re: Asylum's '91 GTZ
Thanx for the advice and thoughts! LOL!themixer wrote:Beat it as a daily driver, might as well enjoy it.
This car is WAY too nice to even consider in that scenario.
I'm going to hate to see it go.
I really love this car! I brought it to Canada from California 10 years ago, and have babied it ever since.
(I LOVE road trips too!)
But I want to get back into Bracket Racing, for a year or two while I still can, and this is NOT the vehicle to even consider for that sort of hobby.
It will find a good home.
This puppy is one of the nicest Quads still around. Probably in the top 10 of anything you will find.

Re: Asylum's '91 GTZ
This will be the end of my 25 year incurable habit of always owning a Beretta.
Ever since I bought my '92 that became the VERY FIRST 3500 swap, brand new.
(At the time the nay-sayers said it would never run on OBD-!.)
It's been fun, frustrating, at times somewhat expensive, and I got to meet a lot of crazy, interesting, caring and just plain wonderful, wonderful people.
And my neighbours always though I was weird!

Re: Asylum's '91 GTZ
Well, I too hope it goes to a good home.
The people are going to say its too expensive, but the price is actually good!
It costs way more to restore a car to bring it back to such a condition. For the asking price of this car you have it painted properly, if you are lucky. I would know! Everyone who remembers the restoration of my Quaser can second that.

Re: Asylum's '91 GTZ
This car is going to sit where it is for the foreseeable future it seems.
I bought a 302 No-Rust '71 Ford Maverick last night that I am going to turn into a Boss 302, shaker hood, C6 clone. It is absolutely amazing the high quality aftermarket parts available for these cars!
Of course it will be white with black Boss 302 reflective stripes. That is Ottawa Auto Body's job.
Do some Bracket Racing and attend some shows that you can't with a '91.
The Beretta will get dusty, but no harm at all in the underground we affectionately call the "Vault".
Fresh Mobil 1 is in the crankcase and everything is set for it to sit for a while. Bought a Battery Tender so we'll see how that works. I actually got permission to plug it in down there!!
It will get to it's eventual home sooner or later.
I'm 64 years old on July 3rd. (Gifts and presents are welcome, LOL! Bribes even better!)
Looking a Roush crate engines tonight. But might look at the local Ford guys for advice.
Time for some fun back at the track, maybe run mid/low 12's, and some cruising.
And I get to fly to Tulsa to get the damn thing.
Cheers.

"Speedy" I wouldn't sell it to you for $10,000.speedy wrote:Is your price negotiable or is it firm?
I'd rather have it rot in the "Vault"!
Don't believe me?
Send 50% deposit to my PP "amy096@hotmail.com" and I will send it back!
All you have ever been is critical and sarcastic about this car.
However you have all of a sudden realized just about how nice this thing is.
And how well it has been assembled.
YOU WISH!!
'Nuff said?
