Cousin was offered $100 from metal recycle company. I’m new to Tapatalk and this is 1st Post. She’s looking for the title. She said it’s a 1996 Z26. She ran over an open manhole about 15 years ago that knocked a hole in the oil pan. Then continued to drive it home. The doors don’t open. It’s a dark purple.

Please give a location (City/State) and a means to contact you. I'd also recommend posting some pictures of the interior (the best you can get since the doors won't open) - seats and dashboard, as that's likely the main reason someone would purchase a car like this.

Thanks!

Having two BRM Z-26s, I could be interested just for the parts, but it may be worth fixing once it is cleaned-up, someone here could drop in a 3400 pretty easily. 15 years does a lot of bad to a car though, so everything would need to be gone through -sitting in weeds like that usually causes rust too... Also try selling it on craigslist, it is free and reaches a lot of local people. The wheels are worth more than the scrapper's offer... It is insulting what they offer for cars these days.

I'm sure the scrapper's offer includes towing charges. It's normally $60-75 to tow it, or more depending on where it's located. I'm sure they'd give more if it was delivered to them. Around here it's about $125 towed, or $200 delivered.

You are absolutely right. But it is still too low. I had to scrap out a couple of vehicles that were destroyed by an arson fire a few years ago, and got in the neighborhood of $400 each back then, delivered to them. One of the cars was a mid-'80s 300ZX, that I kept the engine, transmission, rear hatch, and wheels from. They actually paid by weight at that place, so one of the cars we threw all kinds of scrap metal into (old water-heater, parts of an old wrecked Jeep, etc), and got paid a lot more than that, even though I kept the wheels off of it too. But now, scrap isn't even worth it, you are basically just giving the car away just to get rid of it.

I'm seriously interested in the rear spoiler if its in good shape (no cracks).
PM me if you want good money for it plus shipping.

Car is located 20 miles north of Nashville TN. She’s not interested in selling parts.
