Everybody is trying to get custom cables right now. I heard talk of a group buy, but that may have been talk. There has been alot of talk about the cables around here these days. If you have the time do a search.

If Fiero cables will work there is an 84 Fiero 2M4 in the scrap yard.
I took the Short shifter from it.

Yeah that died as quick as I started it... I'm not sure if ANYONE has the motivation to push these cable guys to get something done.

They are OEM replacements, NOT GM brand.

Customs are the way to go because durability will be built into them. And they would be much more available.

I have attempted to contact a cable maker, but with no reply. I kinda lost motivation to have custom cables made because I got luck and found a really nice one, and I only get to drive my car twice a month.

Seems like you have little concern about the rest of the community... I would have still continued searching to find a solution and not just stopped there because "I'm all set now"

I'm contacting Madison Power Systems today to see what they say.

Anyone have a set of cables that can be copied?

I'm not familiar with the applications that we need and what cables are the same, and how many versions there are.

Work with me, or you can try to get them on your own, but I'm trying to help here.

How come both NAPA cables have the same part number?

Very true. I do not have the resources to go much father with this right now. Only get paid 17 dollars every 2 weeks for my job. Live far away from my car/parts, etc.

The overwhelming issue is that there are probably 20 variations of the shift cable. I have 3 cables and they are all very different. Different thicknesses, different ends, and different lengths even. They are from a 88GT, 88gtu, 92GT.

There are 2 different shifters, based on year.

So really you could get away with 2 variations of cables. Or even 1, and just have everyone convert to pre 92 shifters...

I have some cables if someone needs to duplicate them but they are the pre91s out of a 90 GTZ quad.

Napa ones BTW are JUNK. If you drive hard count on them lasting a month or two. I know two people who destroyed them. Used GM ones lasted longer as mentioned. There is a need for a better cable. I know many guys who gave up racing these cars due to snapping.stretched cables...

I swear up and down that on my old Hard Drive I had a company saved in my Favorites that was from Italy(lost that drive). If I remember right they made cables and the company name was Beretta. I thought it was kind of funny, so I had to save the link.
Hell, I just found it again! Take a look. http://www.berettabowden.com/Products-c ... ables.html
Hope that they can make the cables.

I think the NAPA ones listed there are SELECT cable only, not the shift. The different part numbers is between the 87-91 style and 92-93 style.
