Wanted: 87 - 90 Beretta

Post by dh190852 »

Just thought I'd put the word out that I am looking for a Beretta to replace the one I'm driving now.
Current car: BASE, 2.0 4-cyl, 5-speed, air, cruise, tilt, AM-FM cassette.

Not looking for anything special or super-custom. 4 cyl or V6
NO AUTOMATICS!!!!
5-Speed car only.
Not looking for a rust-bucket, I have one of those.
Prefer something that runs and drives.
Willing to pay decent price for decent car. I've looked at newer cars and I'm not impressed.
Not too concerned with paint or interior. Just something that hasn't been beat to death.

Not sure why one opposes automatics....but slim pickings, for your requirements.

PS: I bought a 1989 GT last year for $500.00, and put another 2 grand into it...fat chance of selling that for $2,500.00. I've even got a 1988 GT with about 300K miles, and some under driver's floor rust, and just recently installed four new hub bearings, new front tires, new McPherson struts (complete assembly), along with one new rear wheel cyclinder, and passenger side lower control assemlby; fat chance I could get $600.00 for that one. Both have good oil pressure, btw.

Out of all the Berettas I've owned, I've never had any transmission problems with the 5-speed cars.
I am able to fix those. Automatics, not so much.
If I have to change a clutch, I know it's going to work when I put it back in.
Car thieves don't steal manual trans cars as much. Not as many people know how to drive one.

You may want to expand the possibilities of success, unless you absolutely love the early interior, and include more years.
OBD-1 continues thru '93, you would very hard pressed to tell an '88 from a '93 from the outside.

YES there are some subtle changes but???

"Speedy" is usually pretty good at finding candidates on the 'net.

'91 California Quad (Gone with just a bit of "Seller's Remorse".)
'92 3500 GT gone and not really missed. It was fun. Documented 13.47 N/A.

I now you said no automatics, but I am selling my 90 Indy, it runs great and there is minor rust, its about 95% clean is what I'd say for the rust.

Here is the link if you want, all the info is there, Shouldn't be to hard to convert it to a stick if you really wanted to.

Lots of photos of all the important parts and the whole car.
