And your saying 3400 auto vs 3400 5-speed isn't much of a difference... Get ready for the

How much faster? Half a second maybe?
Erics motor had no mods at all? Right from the van into the Beretta I suppose LOL.
I stand by what I said that a quad vs a 3400 auto, not much difference. Besides the torque difference.

It was OBDI.5 so if there was anything done I would almost look at it as having a disadvantage since it's not even a stock 3400 tune or spark table.Chad91GTZ wrote:How much faster? Half a second maybe?

Re: WTB HO Quad 4
Mods: CAI and a cut out. Ran 15.3 without the cut out.
And for a bone stock 3400 in Jeff's Z26 with 3100 rear manifold and stock intake & exhaust it went 15.5 or 15.6 I believe.
If your stock quad runs 15.1s it is a factory freak. Penfold got his W41/3.94 quad in the 14.9 range and all the other ones I've seen have been 15.5+...and quite a few in the 16s.
Now just for a street car, not talking all out performance, the 3400 has the low end a quad lacks. My 90 GTZ was lots of fun a 4000+, but it was pretty lazy at lower RPM.
But now we're way off topic thanks to my sarcastic reply earlier...haha

Re: WTB HO Quad 4
I was blowing w41s away at bfest this year. But I like to think I know how to drive.
I would say average 15.5 is an agreeable number with good track prep, still, I don't see the advantage of the swap stock for stock. Plus a quad is more fun. I like to live around 7k rpm.

If you can't run 14s with a w41/394 geared converted quad than you need to learn how to drive or something is wrong with the car

Re: WTB HO Quad 4
Bah. The only reason a stock quad is more fun than a stock 3x00 is the 5spd. Now mate a 5spd with a 3400 and that's the ticket! I've owned them all... Q4/5spd, 3100/auto, 3400/auto, 3400/5spd. The 3400/5spd is hands down the most fun.Chad91GTZ wrote:I was blowing w41s away at bfest this year. But I like to think I know how to drive.

Re: WTB HO Quad 4
im pretty sure it was mike who did that, and afaik, unless someone could clarify it, the car has stock h.o. cams, not the w41 cams, just a chip, ported intake, 2.5in exhaust with no cat, and a ported exhaust manifold, all penfold did was destroy the poor car... i cant seem to find much time to work on it enough to be certain it dont have w41 cams because right now it has an idling issue, sometimes it idles high, sometimes low enough to have a v8 rumble.. im not really sure what cams, but like i said, perhaps someone can clarify with me what was in it??? because i honestly dont remember..woody90gtz wrote:Mods: CAI and a cut out.
