Corrected that for ya.

Mostly, I've ever did damage them was at the salvage yard. Not looking to take my whole tool box with me when I go there. Once someone see's you have a legit tool, they want to become your best friend so they can walk off with it. No thanks!

LOL, and go figure when I needed mine to install a pulley it was 2 days after I ordered it on a whim and I didn't have it yet... Had to borrow one from a friend because it just wasn't having the old fashioned way of installing it using just the crank bolt. Oh yeah UPS delivered it the next day... HAHAHA

I'll pick up a factory balancer and switch it out this winter, they're not too costly anyways.

I have a 3500 pulley if you're interested.

What kind of difference is there between a 3400 and a 3500 harmonic balancer?

You can't use the 3500 one on a 3400, it's lacking the internal reluctor ring for the timing and sfi function.

Interesting... I didn't know the 3500 didn't use the same setup. Good to know.

The 3500 has a high resolution internal crank sensor.

For reference, as I'll be buying a new balancer, does brand make much of a difference on quality?

I can get the Dorman at my work for a good price, but on RockAuto I can also get the ATP which seems to be the same as the Dorman, the AC Delco, or the Dayco which is classified as a premium balancer, also with a higher price than all the others.

The Dayco states it's made with a graphite iron casting and a pressure bonded seal, supposedly 3x better strength than stock. Is this legit, or even worth spending the extra on?

If there's no real difference between any of these, I'll stick with either the Dorman or the AC Delco.

Are you looking for an OEM pulley? Why not use a salvage unit? I just chucked a few 3400 pulleys. Only have 3500 stockers on hand.

Yep, I'm just going to go with an OEM pulley and put my FFP pulley on the shelf. If a yard unit is just as good as a new, I'll just pick up a used one.

Pick the least miles and most cleanest unit.
