i'm getting this HU either today or tomorrow from a family member. the descriptions i have seen online say it is single din but it looks kinda tall to me. if it is can/how do i make it fit? i was also wondering about brackets and harnesses. it appears to have the wiring but is straight wiring an easy process or should i dig around to find a compatible plug?

Looks almost like 1.5 din not a full double... Stock beretta radio is double DIN IIRC...

i emailed pyle to see where i can get an adapter. its a discontinued model and i havent seen any on ebay. would a regular installation bracket work or will i have to something custom. i would love to have it mounted flush.

you'd have to do custom for flush mount and it might be too deep to do that as well.

crutchfield has the stuff i need to install. it looks like around 40 bucks for the bracket, harness, and antenna adapter. i'm gonna have to test my splicing skills since there arent any adapters that are direct plug

You can buy plugs that will plug into the factory harness. With that and the harness from the radio you can make your own adapter without having to hack up the cars wiring.

pretty sure that is what the guy at crutchfield recommended. did a customer service chat and he gave me this:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120701858/ ... rness.html

also suggested this dash kit:

Crutchfield guy fail! The parts he suggested can be bought for less at Walmart! The install kit he suggested is for a single din head unit, the aftermarket one you pictured above is 1.5 din and your factory head unit is also 1.5 din. You might be able to mount the OE head unit bracket right to the aftermarket unit with no plastic install kit needed at all.
