Just a little curious, to what a stock 3400 retta runs in the 1/4 mile at a reasonably low elevation.

Was down at mission watching some drag racing and theres a guy with a 3400 grand am with a cone filter and drag radials and the car runs consistent 15.6 times at about 86mph, he bracket races. Is that about what they run stock? His car is an automatic.

so 15.6 with just a cone filter on the stock intake is good then. He had drag radials so that would help his time also i guess

Depends what it's in.

GA's can be a little heavy and have a crappy trans FDR.

In a Cavy, it is not unusual to see 3400 5-speed into the 14's and auto's damn close.

Buddy Tim has gone 15.13 and his 3400 is bone stock, on a good auto.

grand ams are a few hundred pounds heavier, im not sure if he has any tunes or trans work, i doubt it since he doesnt even have a proper intake for it.

My neighbor has a 93 cavalier z24 with the 3.1 in it, hes going to be doing a 3400 swap on it soon, they weigh quite simular to a beretta so i was curious how it would do stock, trying to convince him to take it to the track when he puts it in.

A *good* n-body driver should be able to get their car to a low 15.  With a 5-speed ya should be in 14s.
