I really think the Ipod and Iphone are lacking in the sensor department to get solid accurate numbers. A good estimate when all conditions are right and you leave the line good, yes I'll agree with... but after that there just simply isn't enough info going into that device to sense other factors that will change the outcome.

And Eric, I think you've reached a limit on your 60' times I cant see those get any lower unless you go down a size on your tires again, and that is just helping you so much. I need to find out if the 16" version of my rim will fit over my brakes, and if it does then I need to find a 24" tire for that rim to see if I can help my times. But honestly... I'm running out of money to spend on this... A roof over my head comes first.

I'm of the opinion there is alot more in the 60' times.

I think the car is a dog off the line!

It's about 60' out that the damn thing starts to make power. Hell at 19# it WILL NOT spin the DR's.

I'm believing Rodney in his assurtion that there is more power to be found.

The problem is finding Rodney, LOL!!!

Remember though, your using gear to get a majority of your results, Granted the tuning has helped quite a bit, but I think your getting to the point where the combination of your 1st gear final drive, tire size and converter stall will always produce a slight doggyness feeling off the line, there may be nothing in that rpm range that you can use, regardless of how much tune you throw at it.

Ever think of upping the stall to 2200 or 2250? I'm half tempted to get one of those factory 2300 units and see how it works. I know it does not work well with the high high ones... because I'm just too high, but I do know my cam has a point where it wakes up, and throwing a bunch of fuel at it doesn't seem to change the low end dog of it.

Bill has been making noises about wanting to try a Cavy 2.2 converter in it.

Maybe when he has the trans out next week I'll let him put one in, as long as he has time to take it out before NE if I don't like it.

I think he's going away for a couple of weeks and don't want to get stuck with something that doesn't work well.

Why not, I'm stuck with 25" DR's and I know those don't help me.

If time allows we should trade tires for a run or two and see just what difference it actually makes.

Not if you have 15" rims... that means I would have to go buy rotors and pads for a GA and put my N-body brakes up front... Sorry not about to downsize my brakes... BUT you can run with my tires if you want to see what that does to your time.... Your more consistant that me anyways so your results will carry more.

Well so much for that idea then.

I'm actually looking for MORE gear, not less.

Jeff keeps teasing me with the thought of a 32/38 gear set that some guy on the West Coast has evidently come up with, but I haven't seen it yet.

I know you want more gear... But you are the only test that we can to to see how much my 25" tires hurt your 1/4 time...

Its a 4% gear change just with the tires alone... our 3.73, vs 3.69 is a small 1.1% gear difference...

Now if you do final drive and 1st 2nd and so on ratios... you just have better spacing.

My first FDR is 10.778
Your first FDR is 10.593

So I have 1.7% more gear than you in first, BUT when I put my 25" tires on over your 24" ones... I'm now down by 2.3% so you gain an advantage that I should have had... then we go on to second gear... well I don't need to explain much other than mine is a 1.56 yours is a 1.60 so your second gear is 2.5% closer to your 1st gear, and once again with the tires thats now exaggerated to 6.5% closer. Overall 3.73 vs 3.69 its very close and almost ignorable for final drive difference, but your changing your final drive due to the smaller tires.

Bottom line your multiplying your torque like crazy with your gear advantages over me, and I'm confident if I had that same trans setup in my car I would be well into the 13's already.

If time allows we can throw your tires on my car and see what happens once I have a base line for the day.

I am seriously thinking about staying over to Sunday and running their regular Bracket Race, just to have some fun.

Bill would be happy to build you a bullet-proof 3t40 for about $800.

I even have a couple of 33/37 gear sets here to make it complete, LOL!

You save the weight and it will never break.

AND remove some variables from your tune.

Heck I even have a spare EP LSD sitting here that he just rebuit and swears it would be even tighter than the one in my car now.

Although I have to admit my DR's are getting down there and they are DEAD EVEN as far as wear goes. In fact it's scary it's so even.

You know I don't want a 3t40 in my car for multiple reasons... I can't change the shift points and I have no one around here to do that like you do, Also my car is a dual purpose, NOT just drag way, so I enjoy having 4th gear.

The only thing that I would consider if it was so expensive, is a 5-speed swap. But even then I'm looking at useless 1st gear and such.

This is why I want to see your car on a DYNO... 1/4 mile times are nice but you can make those numbers change by changing gear alone which means you only multiplied your torqued off the line and your HP stayed the same.

You can fool around with gearing only to a certain extent to affect ET, however MPH is the true indicator of HP at a given weight of any vehicle.

I'm right at 3050# with me in the car ready to race.

Humor me and get a 3.06 diff, put your spare EP LSD parts in it and run a 3.42 gear ratio... I want to see how much slower the car goes. MPH wise too.

Thats like a 15 min swap for Mr. Clark to pull off so its not like a torque converter change.

Hell if I had the tools I could do a diff swap at the strip.

And if you want to say that MPH is directly related to HP, then you should be around 200 whp... if your lucky... I did 206 whp on nitrous and that got me a 100mph slip.

I still want to see dyno numbers :runsies:

I have no idea how much HP it has quite frankly, and really don't care all that much.

I suppose it is likely getting up there.

But that is just a number that doesn't mean a whole lot when it comes to winning races

And I'm certainly not interested in less gearing. Hell I'm salivating over the 32/38 Jeff keeps promising to produce.

And I would certainly have no interest whatsoever in a 5-speed, at least in this car, no matter what the outcome might be. :x
